Chapter 5
“What happened?”
“I did,” Psycho sighed and rose to take their plates to the sink, then with his hand on the door to the refrigerator, he asked if he could get a bottle of water. He ended up getting two and settling back at the table.
“First, before I tell you what I did, I need to tell you about this,” he said as he rubbed the scar on his forehead.“Or at least the first part of it.”
“What’s that mean?”
“Remember I told you I had been in the Army, then I went to college, I got a degree in criminal justice, then became a cop. What I didn’t tell you was that before I started college, I was in a car accident, and I split my skull open. Not my fault, I was hit by a drunk driver who happened to be trying to text while driving. He walked away without a scratch. The only way to repair it, after the swelling went down, was to put in a plate. It’s only about an inch and a half square, but it’s there.I was fine, no mental damage, I aced my classes at school, went through police training, no problems. It didn’t stop me from living my life, just gave me a small scar that blended in with the wrinkles. Then I got the job.Life was good.I took one day at a time, then the planning for that big event happened.
“While in the planning stages, both Flynn and Kessler were there, it was mentioned that maybe someone should try to become a member of the biker gang that was receiving, and pushing the drugs.I’m talking about ten million street value.”
“Holy shit that’s a lot of fucking shit to hit the streets.”
“Yeah, when no one did anything, I took it upon myself to become a member of their gang. They were amateurs compared to Devils Scorpions, it was easy to manipulate them so when the event happened, then everything should go smoothly with the arrests.”
They were both quiet for several minutes, and Petra sat forward to whisper, “What happened?”
“Because I was able to manipulate them, I was able to meet with the supplier.Behind these guy’s backs, I worked with her.Her father was a leader in a drug cartel in Columbia. He was so ruthless that he slowly, methodically killed off his biggest competition and combined the two cartels.”
“Not to sound like a broken record, but holy shit, we’re talking huge drug shipments?”
“Yes, by the time everything was counted after the arrests, street value was well over one hundred million.”He shook his head.“I had a lot, and I mean a lot of irons in the fire. Not only did I meet with Carmen, the head drug cartel’s daughter, but I was also able to get proof of how Carmen wanted to take over for her father. With the evidence I sent him, he contacted me, and we were working together.”
“Wait,” Petra said with a shake of her head, and held up her hand. She started lowering fingers as she talked.“One, you were a cop, two, you were a patched member into this biker gang, three, you had the ear of the daughter of the drug lord, and four, you also had the ear of the actual drug lord?”
“Yes.”
“Did you sit in on the planning stages for this event?”
“Only when everyone was needed. It was mostly done by that first biker club I told you about, because the woman I pissed off by telling her that her brother was dead started dating the president of that club.Even Flynn and Kessler was left out of most of the planning.I believe that was because it was planned with military precision and the members were all former military.SEALs, and Marine Black-Ops.”
“Damn, that is a lot of irons in the fire.Did they ever cross one another?”
“Only once,” he said as he reached up and rubbed the scar in the center of his forehead.“I’m not proud of this, but I took a substantial amount of money from Carmen in order to do her bidding.”
“How substantial?”
“Let’s just say that I wouldn’t have ever had to work again another day in my life, but I’ll get to that.Anyway, Carmen had some sort of beef with the woman I lied to.She asked me to kidnap her from the woman’s locker room after her match and bring her to a certain location in the arena where the event was being held.I did, while wearing the colors to the drug dealing biker gang.”
“Shit, what happened?”
“When she realized it was me, she started to go ballistic, but Carmen’s father, the drug lord, arrived.I had absolutely no clue that he was even in the States, let alone at the event. He questioned her, the woman I had just kidnapped, and ended up backhanding her a couple of times.I saw blood on her cheek, and it leaked from her eye. Before I could do anything, Carmen stepped into the room.”
“The daughter?”
“Yes, she didn’t say a word, just lifted her gun and fired three rounds into his chest. He fell, I dropped to feel for a pulse, and nothing. As I slowly rose she pistol whipped the other woman, knocking her down, aimed her gun at me and fired.”He again reached up and rubbed the scar in the center of his forehead.“That’s all I remember.”
“Damn, Psycho did the woman you kidnapped die?”
“No, during the time of our altercation, on the other side of the arena, I’m talking almost five hundred thousand square feet in the entire building, the drug deal was going down.Guns were drawn, shots were fired, people were killed, others injured. While all that was going down, Flynn and one of his flacky’s found us.I was out cold, the drug lord lay dead, the woman I kidnapped, lay injured, and bleeding, and Carmen was gone. They did a scoop and run of the victim, got her to the local hospital and came back for me.No ambulance was called. We were carried in their cars and dumped at different hospitals.I later learned they gave no instructions about me, but told the hospital to tell the woman that her entire family perished in the fire fight.
“Across town, at a different hospital where the ambulances took the wounded that hospital was told the same thing, they even had a news broadcast stating that members of that club perished.”
