Leggolas1012: We need to get together and write the chapter for the week. I can write this evening if that works for you. Just let me know.

Legggolas1012: Hey, are we writing today?
Leggolas1012: I hope you’re okay.
Leggolas1012: If you could let me know you’re alive?

Leggolas1012: Looks like we’re not dropping a chapter this week?
Leggolas1012: Austen?

Leggolas1012: That’s it. I’m calling Incognito and demanding they give me your address. Then I’m coming to Arizona to check on you.
Austentacious118: Sorry, I’m here. I had some stuff come up. But I’m back. Are you ready to write?
Leggolas1012: Sure am. Are we writing it today?
Austentacious118: I’d like to try something else today. I’m having a rough week and I’d really like to be in a better frame of mind before we write *the* scene.
Austentacious118: Leggs?
Leggolas1012: Sounds good. Are you ready?
Austentacious118: Yes.
Leggolas1012: Let the writing commence.
Austentacious118: Let the writing commence.

JACK
The hotel room's dim light casts shadows as I calibrate our surveillance equipment. Raven stands nearby, her focus sharp as a knife's edge.
"Echo system online," she murmurs, her voice professional. "Awaiting final checks."
I turn, and we find ourselves face to face, closer than protocol typically allows. Her eyes, dark and mysterious, meet mine.
"Confirming Echo," I reply, my tone steady despite the sudden dryness in my throat. "All systems appear...optimal."
Raven's eyebrow arches slightly. "Optimal? That's a strong assessment. Sure you're not overlooking any...vulnerabilities?"
I hold her gaze, acutely aware of every inch between us. Or the lack thereof. "I assure you, Agent Nightshade, my assessment is thorough. Though perhaps a second opinion wouldn't hurt."
Her lips twitch, almost imperceptibly. "Always wise to double-check high-stakes operations."
My gaze flicks to the king-size bed dominating theroom. Raven follows my glance, her lips curved into a smile that is equal parts mischief and heat.
"Quite the vantage point.” I nod towards the bed. "Excellent for...surveillance."
"Indeed," Raven agrees, her tone neutral. "Though prolonged observation from such a position could compromise agent efficiency."
