“You made a bucket list?” I take it from him eagerly.

“It’s not covered in glitter or anything, but I think it’s a pretty great list.”

I unfold it, almost giddy to see what he wrote and shocked that he did. If someone would have told me a few months ago that Vaughn Collins made a bucket list, I would have assumed they were lying or he did it under duress. Yet here we are. I didn’t even threaten to glitter bomb him.

At the very top it saysBucket List. Very concise. Very Vaughn.

And below it there’s only one thing written.

“I’m heading to the airport.” My fingers are jittery as I run my hands through my wet hair.

Rex sits up on the couch, the PlayStation controller in one hand. “Can I come with you?”

“To pick up my girlfriend from the airport?” One brow rises with the question.

“Yeah, I’m bored, and it’s beautiful out. Plus, you’ve been talking to her or about her nonstop since we got here. I’m excited to see this chick.” He’s already standing and grabbing his hat from the kitchen counter of our apartment.
