“I’d be no Bullseye winner, that’s for sure.” Rowan looked up at the dartboard and then back to me. Those green eyes I was so fond of sparkled. “Thank you for bringing me here.”
“Well, technically you drove us so—”
“You know what I mean.”
I startled as Rowan reached across and took my hand from where it was resting in my lap and squeezed it. I smiled softly. “You’re welcome.”
“You know, it occurred to me that I can’t remember the last time someone did something so thoughtful for me.”
I laughed awkwardly. “It’s only a game of darts and food.”
“Not to me,” he replied, holding my eye contact for a long moment.
Eventually, I looked away and coughed. “If you think this is good, you’ll love what I’ve got waiting for you at my place.”
“Oh?” Rowan took a sip from his drink. “What have you got planned?”
“Ah, now that would be telling, wouldn’t it.”
Rowan’s expression grew heated, and he leant in. “If it involves you and little to no clothing, then I’m down.”
I gave him the side-eye and turned my attention back to the food, though I was sure neither of us were thinking about anything other than what awaited us when we got back to my flat.
???
Rowan and I stumbled into my flat, attached at the mouth. It was dark and I couldn’t see a thing, but I couldn’t bring myself to care.
The car journey home had been torture. As soon as we’d left the bar, the sexual tension had been high. I perhaps had helped fan the fire just asmidgeby stroking Rowan’s inner thigh the whole time he drove us home. Judging by the frenzied kisses, my plan to whip him up into lather had worked. I smiled between kisses as he quickly shrugged out of his jacket, dumping it down on the sofa as we carefully navigated our way into the lounge.
“Hey, I’ve still got that gift to show you,” I murmured as Rowan kissed my neck. “We’ve got the place to ourselves for the night. Sit your ass down and I’ll go grab it.”
Rowan sighed heavily. “Alright but be quick. You really shouldn’t have been playing with me the whole way home if you had intentions of putting the brakes on once we got back here.”
I shot him a wolfish grin. “There’s no braking here. Think of it as controlling the pace.” I fumbled for the lamp and flicked it on, pleased to see Rowan was looking delightfully flushed already.
He sat obediently on the sofa, stretching his arms across the back of it and groaned. “Racing innuendos, you know how to get my motor running.”
I laughed aloud and hurried off into my room to grab the Amazon box, returning quickly and dropping it down beside Rowan. He looked at it curiously.
“You can do the honours, birthday boy.” I teased. I watched him ripping the cardboard open. “It’s nothing serious, just a bit of fun.”
Rowan shook his head with a laugh when he saw the contents and looked up at me. “It’s just what I wanted; how did you know?” He was joking, but I saw the twinkle of interest in his eyes as he turned the package over to get a good look at what was inside.
“I’ve got good intuition,” I retorted. “Besides, you won’t always be wearing a tie, will you?”
“A fair point.”
I took the parcel from him and opened the bag. I dug out the first piece of equipment I intended to use. When I held it out for Rowan, he looked at it with silent reservations.
“Is that blindfold for me, or for you?” he asked with a nervous laugh.
“For you. Put it on.”
Though he hesitated a second, Rowan eventually obeyed my request and slipped the silky eye cover over his head. My heart rate skyrocketed just looking at him, knowing he was willingly submitting an element of control to me.
“What now?” he laughed breathlessly.
I didn’t reply, just leant in to kiss him. I unbuttoned the first few shirt buttons, steadily unveiling his delicious torso, and pulled away.
