“Will do.” I say, picking up my phone. “Now go back to sleep.”
Wilder laughs then yawns. “I’m already halfway there, big man. I’ll see you next week. Call me if you need me before then.”
He hangs up and I sit here, taking mental stock of myself. I realize that I was speaking the truth with Wilder earlier. Idofeel better. To recall and acknowledge that part of my problem is a mental thing that makes me more aware of my emotions.
When I’m not dripping wet anymore, I quietly pad my way through the house, even though it’s just the three of us at home tonight. Blair and Asher went up north to meet with the McTavish brothers for a few days.
I’m halfway up the stairs when Collins’ soft moans filter through the hall. I’m already halfway hard by the time I reach the room and find that the door is still standing wide open from when I made my hasty exit earlier.
I’m surprised to find the two of them sitting up in bed as Creed massages Collins’ shoulders. His knowing smirk as his eyes settle on me the moment I walk into the room tells me that he knows exactly what he’s doing when he pulled those sounds from her lips. Collins looks up as he pauses his task, and the smile she gives me makes me want to tear my heart right out of my chest and offer it to her on a silver platter. These two are going to be the death of me with the way they rile me up, whether they mean to or not.
Oh, but what a fucking way to go.
Chapter 28
Creed
“YOU CAN…WATCH.”
I’m hard. I don’t mean to be, but Collins is straddling my thighs backwards while I massage her shoulders, Riley is standing in the doorway to the room looking like a literal wet dream…and I’m just a man. They’re both hot as fuck; I will never deny or play down my attraction to the pair of them. I do my best to ignore the way Riley’s massive cock is threatening to spill out the bottom of his very wet boxers that cling to his body like a second skin.
I’d seen him dive into the pool earlier when I peeked out the window to check on him. He used to do it when he would overthink things in the studio, so it makes sense that he’s picked up that habit again. Collins wanted to follow him to make sure he was okay, but I’d convinced her to stay, knowing that our boy needed some time and space to work through things on his own. If he’d taken any longer, I would’ve checked on him.
A little unsure of himself, he shuffles into the room, kicking the door shut behind him and leaning against it for a moment. His cheeks are still pink, but I’d say that the delicious sounds that Collins made earlier have something to do with that and his erection.
“Hey,” she whispers, her spine straightening as she takes him in. “You okay?”
I think a part of Collins will always be a people pleaser, no matter how often we encourage her to be selfish. Always looking out for others, pushing her own emotions and feelings to the wayside. While I could never fault Riley for bolting when he got scared and overwhelmed, I couldn’t ignore the way my girl was hurt by his unintentional rejection. As far as I know, they haven’t done much more than kiss and snuggle up to one another. I haven’t even had a taste of Collins since that day in the studio, and I’m fuckingstarving.
“Yeah,” Riley mutters, clearing his throat and hooking a thumb over his shoulder. “Mind if I rinse off the chlorine? Then we can talk if you want, okay?”
His tone isn’t exactly dismissive, but Collins stiffens anyway as Ri ducks his head, retreating into the safety and privacy of the bathroom. Slowly, she creeps off my lap and turns to face me. I know her question before she even asks it.
“You didn’t do anything wrong, Stardust,” I reassure her just as her lips part.
Her eyes shine with a sadness that tells me that she’s going to need some time alone with him soon. They were thick as thieves before all this shit went down in our lives, and with the three of us trying to battle our own demons, I think it’s put some unintended distance between them. Both of them get so locked up within their own minds that they need that little bit of a push to get there.
“I can’t stand the thought of him hurting because of me.” Her voice is nothing more than a gruff whisper.
“Oh, baby.” I gather her up in my arms and pull her body firmly against mine. Pressing my lips to the top of her head, I comfort her. “I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. You could never drive him away or hurt him in a way he wouldn’t beg for.”
She nods, but it’s clear she doesn’t wholly believe me.
I hear the shower running, and it gives me an idea. A smug grin threatens to tug at one corner of my mouth.
“Do you trust me, Stardust?”
“Does a bear shit in the woods?” she quips back as she sits up again, and I can’t stop the bark of laughter that escapes me.
I need her full consent for this to work, so I sober up to make sure she fully understands.
“Are you comfortable with me blindfolding you?”
She looks a little surprised, but she takes the time to mull it over before nodding. “I trust you, Creed.”
“Perfect.” I lean in to nip at her shoulder. I continue my assault on her skin, the force of my body encouraging her to lie back until her head is nearly hanging off the edge of the bed. She’s panting now, eyes glazed over, and pouty lips parted in anticipation. Grabbing the hem of her shirt, I slowly roll it up her body as I pepper open-mouthed kisses along her skin, loving the way goosebumps erupt in their wake. Her scars shine, and I trail my tongue along the length of each one, marking and remarking each one as mine. “So goddamned beautiful, Stardust.”
I glance up at her through my lashes to see her throat bobbing on a hard swallow. Her eyes are laser-focused on the ceiling, and I don’t even think she realizes I’m watching her as she shakes her head just once. My heart splinters. Moving higher, I place a kiss to her sternum, then gently take her chin between my fingers, silently encouraging her to look at me.
