“Okay.”

“I could use some help carrying out the garbage first,” Jerry says. He’s looking rather pointedly at Taylor.

“Well, why doesn’t Taylor help with that, and then she can grab the champagne?” Liam suggests.

Why doesshehave to help with the garbage? Jerry can and does clearly manage it by himself, so this must be some sort of power play. Taylor opens her mouth to protest, but Jerry jumps in with “Good,” and starts picking up the broken-down boxes.

The Knox Society Handbook of Practice and Procedures

v. 1817.1030(d)(2)(ii)(C)

Three Nights of Preparation

Purpose. This section serves to detail the procedure for the Three Nights of Preparation that precedes Initiation Night.

Scope and Application. This section applies to all living current Knox Members as defined by paragraph (a) of section 1.22.

On the First Night of Preparation, in the hour leading to midnight, all current Knox Members shall congregate on the premises.[*1]Members move to the dining room, gathering at the long table[*2]for a meal that will deem them strong in body and spirit.[*3]At precisely 3:03 a.m., the time William Knox took his last breath, they shall raise a fork to their mouths and eat in silence, in honor of the past.

Upon conclusion of the meal, the Members shall commence on the Walk of the Minds. In a single file line and in complete silence, they shall visit the scrolls. They shall proceed in this ascending order: touch the Bowels, kiss the Heart scroll, and kneel before the Brains scroll.[*4]The Members shall then continue their walk to Boston Harbor as an homage to their sea merchant beginnings.

After conclusion of the Walk of the Minds, the Members shall return to their individual residences for theRespite, allowing their bodies to replenish and their minds to reflect.

They shall repeat steps 1 through 3 for two additional nights, to complete a full cycle of Three Nights of Preparation.

Initiation Night shall immediately follow.
