Coal stops the vehicle, and we’re immediately surrounded. Bee’s out the door before it fully opens, straight into her dad’s arms. She takes Noah from him, smothering him in kisses and whispering how much she missed him, before her mom pulls her in for a hug.
Over their heads, her dad catches my gaze. The stark relief in his eyes at her safe return hits me hard. I tilt my chin, and he nods in return.
Dog and I understand each other when it comes to his daughter. He knows she’ll always be my priority, that I’ll keep her safe for as long as she lets me.
Coal whistles to get our attention. “Go get cleaned up. Church in twenty. Then family supper, after which you’re free to do whatever you want for the rest of the evening.”
Bee walks towards me, carrying Noah as her parents follow mine into the clubhouse.
“Hey, bud. Did you have a good time while we were gone?”
He nods and reaches for me. I take him from Bee to relieve her bruised ribs.
“I glad you and my Bee home,” Noah says.
“Me, too, Noah,” I reply as we walk towards our home. “Me, too.”
And I am. I’ve got my Old Lady, my boy, and my family. I don’t need anything else.
I’m happy. My heart is full.
CHAPTER 31
BEE
It takes months, but with the information I found while undercover and what Nora extracted from Lloyd, we bring down Miles Burres.
During that time, I heal, spending time with Copper and Noah. We focus on getting Noah the help and care he needs and building and strengthening our family. Noah is blossoming into a sweet, mischievous, happy little boy, and that’s all I want for him.
We start building our new house. The mobile home is fine for now, but if we grow our family, we’ll need more room. And we intend to grow it before long.
Copper has taken the boxing and fighting gym business idea to Church, and it’s been voted in as a new project—one I know will generate a significant amount of revenue for the club. They have plenty of road frontage on their property that isn’t being utilised. There’s talk of adding a bakery and a café, and I’m eager to help raise the money for them. It's one of the things I’ve always been good at.
Beau and I have made our peace. We’re working together again, although I tend to work from an office Coal has allocated me in the clubhouse and only rarely visit Feannag for family events.
It takes me months to mend fences with my brothers. Their wives are easy, and my nieces and nephews welcome me back with open arms. But Draco and Onyx are pissed off at me for disappearing and worrying our parents the way I did.
As for my parents, they share their time between the two MCs, and I love having them back in my life.
The decision I made all those years ago changed everything. Every bit of heartache along the way has been worth it because it brought me here—to this very moment.
A different clubhouse than the one I grew up in but surrounded by the one thing that has always mattered the most to me. Family.
And Copper. The man who makes sure I never forget I’m loved and worthy of that love.
Noah, our son, laughs as we watch the brothers messing around.
I leaned my head on Copper’s shoulder. I didn’t think this kind of happiness and contentment was possible. My gaze wanders over the people who’ve become an important part of my life this past year and made it so much better.
Thea and Jeanie, who welcomed me like I’d always been one of them.
The Queens Wraiths brothers, who offered their support when we needed it.
Copper’s parents, who never once judged me, and made sure I knew I was loved and welcome in their family.
It’s taken a long time and a lot of heartache. I may have done things in a roundabout way, but in the end, I’m where I’m supposed to be.
Right here, right now, in this moment. This is my time. I’m happy, and my heart is finally healed.
