The lights came on.
Patsy slowly turned around to see who was in the room with her.
Her eyes widened as she saw four very large men sitting there, watching her.She scrambled toward the door but the men moved in as a unit and then hands were on her shoulders stopping her from getting away.Patsy screamed and fought to get herself loose but the strong hands held her tight.Then her body was lifted high in the air and she screeched in panic.
“Well boys, what did we just find?”one of the men who held her asked.
“Looks like we found someone breaking into our clubhouse, doesn’t it?”another responded.
“A little nosy trespasser,” one of them agreed.
“I say we string her up,” one of them suggested.
“Yeah, and then we can use her as a workout bag, call her Miss Everlast.”
“Only she won’tlastthat long.”
They all laughed loudly.
“Or we can always shoot her and we’d be well within the law.”
“Like we could use her for target practice,” the second one said.
“Oh, yeah!That sounds like fun.One little bullet, two little bullets...OOPS!”
More laughter.
“Too bad we never miss though.”
They all snickered.
“Yeah, that would be too quick of a death for a lowdown, no good thief like her.”The largest one shook his head while looking disgusted.
“I wonder how many people were robbed by this little smelly urchin?”
“Probably lots,” one of them quipped.“Did you see how sneaky she was and brazen at the same time?”
“Yeah,” the one on her right agreed.“I bet she’s stolen lots of stuff.”
“Like thousands of dollars I bet,” the other one replied.
“I don’t like her,” the largest one said.“I say we tear her apart.”
“Well, we do have the right to defend our home,” the third man drawled as he took a very large gun from his vest and cocked it.“What do you think boys, should we just shoot her now and tell the law she invaded our house?I mean we don’t know this girl.”
“Yeah, little would-be robber, let’s see how far you can run,” the largest one taunted.
Then all four laughed again as they let her go.
Terrified and trembling badly, Patsy sank down to her knees and covered her head with her arms.“Please don’t hurt me!”she screamed in a tearful panic.
