I need to consider options for a place that might be open to accepting an ex-club girl who worked as a stripper for four and a half years.

Yeah, not so easy getting a job with that history.

A stern knock on my door makes my head snap to look at it while I sit on my bed. My heart begins to race, hoping like hell that one of the brothers hasn’t come in search of gratification, which I really don’t want to give them tonight. Hesitating, I grimace but call out, “Come in.”

The door opens, and to my surprise, Steel enters. Widening my eyes in shock, I jerk my head back as he doesn’t make a move to come further inside my room, merely standing by the door with a stern look on his face. He exhales as I sit up taller, waiting for him to say something, but he simply shakes his head, then steps through the door, closing it behind him.

Furrowing my brows, my muscles tense, wondering what the fuck this is about when he spins back to face me, his bulging arms crossed over his broad chest. “I don’t know what you expect from me, Lunar?”

Letting out a small scoff, I move to stand, and he takes a purposeful step away from me. Widening my eyes, I force a smile while shaking my head. “I’m not some crazed woman, Steel. I’m not going to launch myself on you if you don’t want me. I do have some self-respect. Give me a little credit.”

He relaxes his posture, but only slightly, as he lets out a huff. “Look… we had a good time for a long time. But you and I both know that what we had wasnevergoing to be real. You’re a club girl, Lunar. And club girls aren’t supposed to be old ladies. It’s a fact. Savages policy even. You knew that when you signed up. You knew you were only ever my side piece, and you weren’t supposed to get attached.”

As I look at the man I thought I was in love with, it finally clicks. He was stringing me along all this time.Using me tomake him feel better until he found a woman who he wanted to be with. The problem is, I fucking fell for it, hook, line, and sinker because I so desperately wanted to feel loved and needed by him.

“You know what, Steel… fuck you! Fuck you for making me believe there was something here. You could see I was getting attached, and you could have stopped it at any time. Put a pin in it. But you continued to let me believe—”

“That’s not true, and you know it!”

“Then whythe fuckwould you put a stop to the other brothers fucking me, huh? If you didn’t want me to be so wrapped up in you, then you wouldn’t have made me believe your lie. You’re not innocent in this, Steel. So don’t put all this blame on me, arsehole.”

He scoffs, running his fingers over his shaved head. “Okay… maybe I did like having your attention on me. But, Lunar, our time is over. I regret hurting you, but we both have to move on.”

Shifting back to my bed, I sit, slowly nodding my head. “Yeah… maybe you’re right. Maybe that’s exactly what I need to do. The club doesn’t feel like home anymore. Perhaps moving on is the best thing for me.”

A genuine sympathetic expression crosses his face. “For what it’s worth… I think Danger’s good for you.”

Warmth floods through me as I think of the rocker who is quickly taking up space in my mind. A slow smile crosses my lips, and I nod. “For what it’s worth… yeah, I think he is exactly what I need right now.”

Steel dips his chin, turns for my door, and pulls it open, then glances over his shoulder at me. “For what it’s worth… I think you’re an incredible person.”

Smirking, I let out a small laugh. “For what it’s worth… Istillthink you’re an arsehole.”

He chuckles, winks at me, and then walks out of my room, closing my door behind him.

Letting out a long puff of air, I stand, walk to my door, and flick the lock. I don’t want any more unwanted visitors tonight, and to be honest, the only person on my mind right now is Danger.

I want to go see him.

And first thing in the morning, I am going to do just that.

Chapter Ten

DANGER

It’s morning, and I’m lying in bed when I hear a gentle rapping. Furrowing my brows, I figure it’s probably Ryan or one of the guys, so I slide out of bed in my boxer briefs to answer the door. Pulling it back, my eyes widen when I see Lunar standing there.

She smirks looking me up and down while licking her lips.

“See something you like?” I jest.

She scoffs and rolls her eyes. “Like I’ve never heard that line before.”

I usher Lunar inside, kick the door shut, and then lead her over to the bed where we lie down. She moves into the nook of my arm, cuddling into my chest, gently playing with my nipple ring.

“Didn’t think I’d see you till the next gig.”

She looks up at me and grins. “Right, ’cause I only like you when you’re rocking out?”
