“Spit it out, Red.”

“Just, I’ve been looking at apartments online. And I’ve seen some nice ones. But, you said once that, maybe, if it worked out, you might think about coming to Atlanta too.”

Linc fought off his drowsiness. He wondered if Avery could hear the way his heart had started beating faster in his chest. “I did say that.”

“Well.” Avery kissed his shoulder. “Now I’ve decided to go. And now we’ve had our first big fight, and even our first make-up sex—”

“Pretty sure I’m going to need more of that in a few hours. I’m not nearly done making up with you.”

“Listen.” Avery bit his biceps. “I’m trying to ask you something important here.”

Linc wrapped an arm around Avery and hauled him up until he was sprawled over his body. He kissed the top of Avery’s head. “Yes. As soon as I can find a new job, I will move to Atlanta with you.” Lacey would murder him for leaving North Carolina when they’d only just reconnected, but Atlanta to Wilmington was only a six-hour drive. He’d come up for every school play and birthday party they invited him to.

“Because it doesn’t make sense for me to get an apartment for just myself if—” He froze. “Wait. What did you just say?”

Linc opened his sleepy eyes. Avery was staring at him with the most adorable mix of confusion and hope, like a golden retriever hearing a high-pitched whistle for the first time.

“Sleep now. More make-up sex after. Then we’ll get online and find a place to live together in Atlanta.”

“Really? But—”

“Sleep. There’s time.”

They had all the time in the world.
