“Little!” He snapped in offense. Makwa shrugged.
“Comparatively, yes. Don’t feel bad that my tentacles are bigger than yours,” Makwa broke off in manic laughter, wiping tears from his eyes. It wasn’t hard at all to think of the body as not Ava. It was like an evil twin. Different movements, different expressions, those all-black eyes, his voice, and every word out of his mouth was nothing like her.
“I’ll fucking kill you,” Caspian turned, his hands coming up and hovering inches from Makwa’s neck. We all came to a halt suddenly as Caspian stood there shaking, not touching Makwa. His whole body thrummed with rage all the while Makwa stood there smiling knowingly up at him.
The humans seemed inclined to let us act out whatever play we were putting on, likely hoping for a scrap of information about their favorite subjects. They watched with interest, ears perked up. Made me feel like smacking each one in the face.
“Just hit him,” I sighed.
“What?” Caspian snapped, turning towards me in shock. “It’s still Ava’s body.”
“He can heal,” I said. “Remember the caves.”
“What if shefeelsit?” Caspian asked, looking wounded by the idea of hurting her in any way. Makwa snorted while we argued the point.
“She doesn’t,” I said.
“But—”
“Pay attention. It’s fine,” I said. He winced from the words. Caspian shook his head slightly.
“No,” he said.
“No?” Makwa asked in his taunting way. “Even if I told you she really would be okay? She wouldn’t feel a thing and I could heal it instantly.” Caspian swallowed and shook his head slightly.
“Ican’t,” he insisted through his teeth, jerking back around to face forward. We all began walking again. Our captors seemed disappointed that more hadn’t been revealed.
“Hmm, notwon’tbut can’t. Interesting. Very interesting,” Makwa said.
“Shut up,” Caspian groaned in annoyance.
“Tell me. How does this make you feel?” Makwa asked. I looked over my shoulder and saw him running his hand over Caspian’s neck.
“Disgusted. Leave me alone.” Well, he didn’t look disgusted. He looked pained. Well, that was interesting. Seems he couldn’t actually help himself—some crazy nokken biochemistry going on to make him react to Ava whether she was really herself or not. Makwa wiggled his eyebrows at me like we were in on the joke together.
“What did you tell him I said?” I asked.
“I told him exactly what you told me. To take it easy on him because you were seducing him slowly.” Caspian tripped over an exposed root, his eyes widening. I groaned.
“I don’t want that,” he said to me. I sighed and shook my head. I couldn’t deal with these two anymore. My limit of bullshit had been reached.
“Look, it's natural that you have an attraction,” Caspian started. Makwa began wheezing in delight, trying to smother his laughter so Caspian would keep going.
“Is it?” I asked apathetically.
“It’s part of what I am.” His eyes shifted to Ben who was standing closer with his ear leaning in to hear Caspian explain more. Caspian frowned and shut his mouth.
“Good to know,” I said back to him. Was he serious right now? This poor fucker. I thought of his whole breaching thing with all the ounces of cum. The idea of having my intestines tickled made me feel light-headed in a bad way.
“Oh my god, he’s gagging!” Makwa proclaimed in delight. “Oh, this is too good.”
“Are you gagging?” Caspian snapped.
“No, no.” I tried to assure him as I gagged a little again.
“He is. Sorry Cas, I don’t think your sexiness appeals to him.”
“Impossible,” Caspian said. We were all silent for a moment. Did he want me to be attracted to him? “I mean, that’s good,” he corrected quickly.
