“Holy fuck!” Brandon barked out in shock as he walked into the living room. He then proceeded to run into the coffee table and fall over it. I sighed in annoyance. Brandon popped his head back up and both he and Caspian watched with wide eyes as I unwrapped my tongue from Ava’s.

“I have questions but I don’t want any of them answered,” Brandon said. I frowned at him. He was ruining my boner. Ava buried her embarrassed, flushed face in my chest. Which wasn’t going to work at all. I peeled her off me and held her up for all to see. I needed to memorize the expression to draw it later. I had just the scene in mind.

She sent me a grumpy look that was very cute.

“The phone doesn’t work,” she said, flicking her eyes towards Caspian, her face still very flushed. It was making me hard again. I eyed the human, wondering if I was supposed to wait until he left the room to resume wooing Ava into lots of messy sex. My head tilted to the side when I noticed they smelled of each other. Well, that was good enough for me to continue in front of them all. We were all friendly, it appeared.

I dug my fingers into the front of Ava’s shorts. Nobody had a bad day if it started with clit sucking. She squeaked in dismay and scrambled off of me. I sighed, rolling off the couch to be facedown on the floor. I was never getting laid.

“Is he pouting?” Brandon asked as Caspian got off the floor with an annoyed huff. I rolled over and looked at the human.

“Are you Ava’s mate?” I signed to him. His eyes widened and darted to Ava and Caspian.

“Mate?” He signed back in confusion.

“Ava smells like you,” I explained. Brandon shook his head.

“We hugged,” he signed. “We’re friends.” I sat up. Friends… I hadn’t had that in a long time.

“Can we be friends?” I asked and he made a constipated look.

“What are you two talking about?” Caspian asked.

“Nothing,” Brandon said.

“Hugging,” I said to Caspian.

“Hugging?” He asked in confusion and Brandon shook his head at me with frantic, wide eyes.

“He’s crazy, don’t tell him anything,” Brandon signed and I started to laugh, my whole body shaking. I got up and went over to Brandon, he looked terrified as I towered a foot over him. I held my arms out and then gripped him in a hug. His feet lifted slightly off the floor.

“Fuck!” Brandon barked. I set him back down and slapped his back. I signed to him that we were friends now. Then I told him it was okay with me if he fucked Ava. I thought he was full of shit about the hugging. His eyes widened to saucers as he shook his head. Ava and Caspian looked at us questioningly.

“I don’t like them talking,” Caspian mumbled, pulling Ava into him. He buried his face in her hair and inhaled. I smiled down at Brandon and he blanched as he looked at my mouth.

“What did you mean the phone is broken? Did you call someone?” Caspian asked.

“We haven’t been able to call anyone. Something strange is going on here,” Brandon said, shifting further away from me.

“Strange?” Caspian asked. My attention drifted to Ava as they talked about the phone. Her aura was still peculiar. I dug my hand into my coat and brought my journal out, writing out something for Ava. Then I went over to her and she took the journal I offered. She sucked in a breath when she read what I wrote.

“My aura looks wrong?” She asked. I took the journal back and explained.

“Like two auras,” she mumbled, reading my words. She looked up at me with big eyes.

“Let’s go,” Brandon insisted. Caspian nodded and reached out for Ava, threading their fingers.

“Go where?” She asked, handing the journal back to me. I frowned and shoved it back in my duster.

“To the dining hall to find Ben. We’re making our phone calls and then we’re leaving,” Brandon said. Ava nodded and then looked at me.

“Are you coming?” She asked. I shook my head and signed to Brandon.

“What did he say?” She asked him.

“Bring him back lots of fruit,” he responded as he pushed open the door to leave.
