And cried.
Liam hadcried.
What the hell had that been about? Ben had seen tears in the man’s eyes only once before, in their final confrontation. And now more tears?
Ben impatiently pushedhimself away from the counter. He wasn’t going to fall into the trap. Hell no. He’d done his time, torn himself apart trying to figure out what was going on in Liam’s head, and he’d gotten nowhere. That was all in the past.
Liam was in the past. He’d popped in and popped out and now he was gone again.
It was a sign of something deeply wrong with Ben that he was actually feeling disappointedwith that reality.
