He nodded. “I can get behind that.”
“Let’s get the whole Africa thing behind us first, huh?”
“Deal.”
He set me on my feet again before kissing me, then we headed back out to the front room. Megan was waiting for us, practically panting with need.
“I’ll talk to my realtor about an offer, and we’ll go from there.”
“Oh, I didn’t realize you had a realtor.”
“You didn’t ask.” He smiled. “I’ll be in touch.”
He took my hand and led me out to the truck.
“Who’s your realtor?” I asked once he started the engine.
“I need to call my brother and ask him to find me another one.”
I turned in my seat to face him. “Megan was right there.”
“Megan’s in heat,” he said, and Ibust out laughing.
“I wasn’t sure if you noticed.”
“Baby, she was practically gagging for it. I don’t need some over processed, fake titty, spray tanned wannabe in my orbit. I’m happy with the stunner I’ve got. You’re one hundred percent prettier than any woman I’ve ever met and if Megan can’t keep it in her pants, especially when she’s in front of you, she doesn’t get my business.”
“Wow, you don’t miss a thing, do you?”
“Not when it comes to you, no.”
I loved him.
I wasn’t ready to say it out loud, but it was legitimately how I felt.
Instead I beamed at him. “Another notch in your sweet belt, honey.”
“Good to know.” He chuckled. “Now, where am I takin’ you for breakfast?”
“Feathered Fates?”
“Ooh, I like your style,” he said, and we headed into downtownDenver.

AFEW DAYS later, I had just finished folding a load of laundry when there was a knock on my door. Kadance had moved in withGranny, and I knew for a fact they were planning on a reality television marathon tonight, so I figured it was probably a package delivery for one of my roommates. I checked the peephole, surprised to see Snarl standing outside.
I swung the door open. “What are you doing here?”
Snarl leaned down and kissed me. “I came by to give you a going away present.”
“You have a present for me?” I asked, tentatively.
“Don’t worry,” Snarl said, waving his hands. “This isn’t like the last present. You’ll see. It’s out here, but I’m gonna need to blindfold you first.”
I laughed. “Seriously?”
“Absolutely,” he replied, pullinga blindfold from his pocket before tying it over my eyes. “No peeking,” he said before guiding me carefully down the stairs and out to the street. “Okay, are you ready?”
