He shook hishead. “Get in the truck, Daisy.”

I climbed up inthe truck and he closed the door, heading around to the driver’s side andsliding behind the wheel. “I’m gonna say something as respectfully as I can,”he said starting the truck. “You’re kind of clueless.”

I gasped.“Rude.”

He chuckled.“Does Huck know who your dad is?”

“I’m pretty sureLouisa’s filled him in.”

“He walked outhis door and waited until he was sure you were safe before he headed to theelevator.”

“How do you knowthat?” I asked.

“Because I knowshit, Daisy.”

“It might havejust been coincidence.” I shrugged. “I doubt he was waiting to make sure I wassafe.”

“He was sizingme up, Daisy.” Harm pulled out onto the freeway and headed toward the club. “Hewas tryin’ to be cool, but I could tell he was waiting to make sure.”

“Oh my god,that’s so sweet.”

“And that phonemove? Baller.”

My heart raced.“You think?”

“Iknow,”he said. “Us guys are morons, sweetheart, and barely scrape through life mostdays. I was lucky enough to find Bryn and believe me when I say it took someconvincing to get her to give me a chance. You are beautiful, funny, and smartas hell. Any man would be lucky to have you.”

I rolled myeyes. “You have to say that. You’re like my uncle.”

“Jesus, Daisy, Idon’thave to say that and don’t make me sound old,” he growled.

Harm was in histhirties, and he’d been with the club since I was a kid. I adored him, but Iknow his life had been troubled. He’d been riding with his girlfriend back whenthey were kids and they’d had a wreck. She’d died and it had nearly destroyedhim. He’d recently met Bryn and I was so glad he’d finally found happy againbecause he deserved it.

“Huck’sinterested,” Harm continued. “He’d be an idiot if he wasn’t. The question is,does he have the sac to stick around once he figures out what it means to datea biker princess?”

“Maybe I shouldhave insisted Razor pick me up,” I grumbled. “He’s nicer to me.”

“Liar.” Harmlaughed. “He’s just dumber. He wouldn’t have noticed Huck had even walked outof his condo.”

I scoffed. “I’mgonna tell him you said that.”

“Do it,” hetaunted. “He’ll agree with me.”

I sighed.“You’re probably right.”

“And stoptalkin’ shit about yourself, sweetheart. You’re fuckin’ awesome, got it?”

I let warmfuzzies fill my soul. “Okay, Harm, I’ll try and let that sink in.”

“Good.”

We pulled intoBig Ernie’s lot and Harm parked the truck. Teagan was already running for thedoor and opening it, practically dragging me from the cab.

“Oh my god, youtook your time getting here!” she admonished.

“Hi, bestie, howare you? Congratulations on passing your finals,” I teased.

“I alreadytexted you all that flowery bullshit earlier.” She took my hand and dragged metoward the door.
