I pulled my tartan further over Lennox, kissing her temple as I made sure my colors covered every inch of her tinybody.
As I held her, Ivowed nothing and no one would ever harm her again, and I didn’t care what Ihad to do to make sure that happened. If it meant beating her father the way hebeat her, then I would relish the opportunity.
So violent,honey.
I sighed.Ithought you were asleep.
I am.Sheslid her hand up my chest and stroked my pulse as she snuggled deeper againstme.Well, I was.
Do you needme to ‘help’ you go back to sleep?
“I’m good righthere.” She kissed my throat again. “Lordy, you smell good.”
“Sweetheart,what are you doing?”
She kissed meunder my chin, before shifting her body so she was straddling my hips. “Kissingyou, why?”
“Because this isnot a good idea in my current state.”
“I’m not afraidof you.” She stroked my face, running her thumb over my bottom lip.
“That’s not whatI mean, and you know it.”
She leaned downand kissed me, her tongue pressing against the seam of my lips, asking forentrance.
“Lennox,” Igrowled.
“Phineas,” shegrowled back.
“Baby, I can’t.”I grabbed her wrists gently and pulled her hands away from my face. “Not rightnow, or I’ll bind you. I won’t be able to help it.”
She blinked afew times, then tugged against my hold. “Bind me.”
“You’re notready.”
“Let me go,” shedemanded, and I released her. She scrambled off my lap, dropping my tartan tothe floor, then facing me. “I’m ready.”
“Lennox—”
