“Whadidya just call me?”

This time it was my time to laugh. “Gooberscandy,” I corrected. “You can buy me some to make it up to me.”

“Okay, baby, I’ll buy you a case of Goobers.”

“Thanks.” I smiled. “As much as I hate to do it, I need to let you go. I’ll be pissed if you crash your helicopter because I kept you up all night.”

“Yeah, that would not be good. I’ll text you tomorrow and we’ll figure out dinner.”

“Can’t wait.”

“Love you, Tate.”

I bit my lip. “Love you too.”

“See you tomorrow.”

“Okay. Bye.”

I hung up and flopped onto my pillows a grin from ear to ear as my heart soared.

Flash

Iwoke up earlier than my alarm, my dick hard as a rock, probably due to the dream I’d had starring Tate Burke and her glorious tits. Jesus, I needed more from her, and I needed it quick, but I also knew I’d wait for as long as she needed me to.

After taking a long shower and giving myself some much-needed relief, I dressed quickly and decided to head over to my parents’ place who always had an open-door policy. We were welcome any time for any reason, no questions asked, and if they weren’t going to be home, they’d text us all. Jamie was the only one still living at home while he finished up school, but Poppy and I dropped home at least four days a week, even if it was just for a few minutes.

I walked in and found my mother in the kitchen, frying bacon.

“Hi, Mama.” I wrapped an arm around her and kissed her cheek.

“Hi, love,” she said, hugging me back. “You hungry?”

“For bacon? Always.” I released her and headed to the full coffee pot.

She chuckled. “Just like your dad.”
