“Harmony, giveus a minute, will ya?” Hatch asked, inviting no argument from her.

She let out along sigh, then stood and left the room, closing the door behind her.

“You can say no,brother,” Hatch said.

“That’s nottrue, and you know it. You saw her face.”

“Yeah,” Hatchgrunted out. “The tour’s only thirteen weeks.”

“That’s three months!I’ve never been on the road for more than ten days and that was almost a decadeago. I’m a studio rat, Hatch. When I’m not riding or with the club, I basicallyspend my nights in a submarine. I’m kind of a solitary guy, ya know?”

“You’re the mostmusically gifted person I’ve ever known and if Harmony believes you’re theright man for the gig, so do I. The Morgan sisters are a part of our extendedfamily. Doom made Lyric a promise a long time ago that the Dogs would help keepher sisters safe.”

I nodded. Doom isthe VP of our Savannah chapter and had married Melody and Harmony’s sister,Lyric, several years ago. He’s one I respect highly, but even if I didn’t, Irespected Harmony, and that was all that counted right now.

I stood andpulled the door open. Harmony turned and gave me a look of hopefulanticipation.

“Come back inhere,” I said.

Harmony rushedback inside, wringing her hands as she took her seat again.

“Set up ameeting with Melody,” I ground out.

Her eyes lightedwith hope. “You’ll do it?”

“I’ll talk toher then decide,” I said. “For fifty thousand.”

Harmony nodded.“Okay. We can do that.”

“Fuck me,” Hatchbreathed out. “I picked the wrong profession.”

“Ten-percent ofthat is goin’ back to the club,” I pointed out.

Hatch laughed.“You’ve always been a faithful tither.”

He pulled open adrawer and pulled out a patch, sliding it across the desk.

It read, “ROADCAPTAIN.”

“Was gonna dothis at Church on Wednesday, but I don’t want to wait,” Hatch said. “We’llcelebrate proper once the tour is over.”

“Works for me.”I grinned as I took the patch and slid it into my pocket. “Thanks.”

“I’ll text youthe time for tomorrow,” Harmony said.

“Sounds good,” Ireplied before adding. “Oh, I have one more condition.”

“What’s that?”

“I’m bringing mybike. There’s no way in hell I’m going thirteen days, let alone thirteen weekswithout riding.”

“I’m sure thecrew can find room for your bike in one of the equipment trucks,” she repliedbefore adding, “Come to think of it, I have a condition of my own.”

“What would thatbe?”

“No sleepingwith my sister.”

“Come on,” Isaid. “It’s a job. Do you really think I’d put moves on the boss?”
