“Love you too.” He pulled out of me gently. “Gonna deal with the condom.”
He walked into the bathroom and returned with a warm washcloth, settling it between my legs. I sighed, closing my eyes as the warmth soothed my soreness.
“Okay, baby, we’re gonna take a break. I’ll finish cookin’, then we’ll revisit sex.” He smiled. “Your body needs time to adjust.”
“Okay.”
We cleaned up, dressed, and headed back downstairs for dinner.

About a month later, Sundance called me into his office, closing the door behind us. Things had finally returned to normal, Sabrina and Felix were back at home, and I was starting to relax. We were trying to figure out the right time to tell Felix about our relationship, because I fuckin’ hated leaving her late at night and sleeping alone. The only time I got to wake up with her was if Luca took Felix overnight on Tuesdays. That hadn’t happened for two weeks, so we were frustrated, to say the least.
“What’s up?” I asked.
He handed me an envelope. “For Randy,” he said. “Wasn’t sure if you still wanted to make the drop this month, but figured I’d ask. I can send Moses—”
“Nah, I’m good. This is my thing.”
He nodded, and I walked out of the office, texting Sabrina before I climbed on my bike.
Me:Gotta run an errand over by you. Feel like company?
Sabrina:If it’s you, always.
Me:One hour?
Sabrina:See you then.
Grinning like an idiot, I set out to Randy’s, pulling up to her row house just as the sun was setting. I rang the doorbell and waited. I knew she’d see me on her doorbell camera, but she usually made some snide comment through the intercom before answering the door. Tonight there was nothing. Her lights were on and her car was in the driveway, so I knew she was home, so I rang the doorbell again. “Randy, it’s me,” I called.
I waited for a couple more minutes and turned to leave when I heard a crash.
“Randy!” I bellowed. Another crash and a scream spurred me into action, and I tried her front door. It was locked, so I kicked it open. “Miranda!”
There was another scream and the sounds of struggles coming from upstairs, so I headed that way. “Randy?”
