“I bet.”
“Sorry, I don’t mean to unload.”
“It’s all good,” he said. “Is Fox with Luca on Tuesday?”
“Always, yes.”
“You got plans?”
“Yes. I have a date.”
His face fell.
“With you,” I said, with a wry grin.
“Jesus,” he whispered, pulling me out of the foyer and pushing me gently against the wall to kiss me. I slid my hands up his chest, pressing my tongue against his as his hand cupped my breast, his thumb sliding over my sensitive nipple.
I let out a quiet moan, and then whimpered when Stoney abruptly broke the kiss, stepping away from me just as Felix came back.
“I’m ready,” he said.
I took several deep breaths as I grabbed his coat from the closet and helped him into it, squatting beside him and zipping him up.
“I’ll get your booster.”
“I bought one,” Stoney said.
“You did?”
“Yeah, I figured it’d be easier. Talon’s woman, Darcy, helped me buy it, but do you want to come and approve?”
“Yes. That would be good.”
I grabbed my jacket and followed Stoney out to his truck. He opened the back door and I stepped in to check out the booster. It was the same one I had, only a newer model, and he’d installed it correctly. “This looks great,” I said.
Stoney lifted Felix inside and helped him buckle in, then I leaned in and had one last pep talk with my nephew. “Be polite and listen to your body, okay? If you have to potty, tell Stoney.”
“I will.”
I kissed his forehead and backed away. “Have fun.”
I closed the door and Stoney pulled me behind the truck, kissing me quickly. “We’ll see you in a couple of hours.”
I nodded, slipping back into the house and watching them leave from my foyer window. I had another whole night to myself and wasn’t entirely sure what to do with the time. I decided to get some work done. As I powered up my laptop, Vivi called, and I grinned as I picked up. “Hi, stranger.”
“Hey, babes. Wanted to get that girls’ night on the books.”
“Oooh, yes,” I said, putting her on speaker and pulling up my calendar on the laptop. “I just have to check with Mom, but I’m actually open tomorrow, or not for another three weeks.”
“Well, then put me in for tomorrow.”
“Okay. Oh my god, I can’t wait. I have so much to tell you.”
“Awesome. I’ll be at your place at six.”
“Okay, I’ll let you know what Mom says.”
“Perfect,” she said. “Bye.”
