“I got tested when I ended it with Mark. I haven’t been with anyone since, but I can go do that if you want.”

“How long ago was that?”

“Right before I moved here.”

“You haven’t been with anyone for over two years?”

“Yes. Why, is that weird?” I asked.

“Yes.”

“Why?”

“Because you’re fuckin’ sexy, Raquel.”

I blushed. “Well, that’s ridiculously sweet.”

“It’s the truth,” he said. “You can’t tell me men aren’t falling at your feet.”

“Icantell you that,” I countered.

“Then they’re idiots.”

I snorted. “Stop.”

“I bet you twenty bucks you’re just not noticin’.”

“Whatever. Can we get off this subject, please?”

“The subject of you being sexy as fuck?”

I nodded. “Yes. That one.”

“We can once you acknowledge it.”

“Oh my god, you’re ridiculous.”

He grinned. “Maybe so, but I’m not wrong.”

“Okay, let’s put aside the fact you’re being super sweet right now, it’s not just that guys aren’t throwing themselves at me. I’ve been swamped with research. This is the first ‘distraction’ I’ve had in two years.”

He raised an eyebrow. “Really?”

“Yep.”

“I’m honored, Razzle.”

I chuckled. “You should be.”

“I want to know about your research, but hold that thought,” he said, sliding out of me and heading to the bathroom. He returned, climbing under the covers and pulling me over his chest. “What are you researching?”

“The effects of pharmacology on behavior,” I said. “Specifically, the effects of CBD on childhood seizures and nonverbal autism.”

“What about adults with the same?”

“I’m focusing on children, but I’m sure whatever I find will work for adults as well.”

“Which explains the move to Colorado.”
