Shaken out of my erotic thoughts, I realized I’d been chewing the end of my pen, so I set it down and focused on my sister. “Yes, Melody?”
“I need water.”
I rolled my eyes. “Let me get on that right away, oh exalted one.”
I walked to the table at the back of the room, snagged a water off it, and took it to my sister. I tried my best to avert my gaze, seriously not wanting to see any more of either of them. I’d had enough boobs and family jewels to last a lifetime.
No, that wasn’t entirely true. I was all about Jaxon’s family jewels, and I didn’t have a problem with my boobs, but other people’s pink bits could stay firmly behind fabric.
“Ready to try that again?” Jay asked, and Deacon nodded.
I focused back on my iPad as the exaggerated groaning and skin slapping against one another continued.
By the time Jay called, “Cut!” I was keyed up and feeling claustrophobic. We’d been stuck in this room for five hours, and that was after a short lunch, without a break and I was done. I wanted wine and my man.
And not necessarily in that order.
“Good job, everyone,” Jay said. “We’ll see you back tomorrow morning, six a.m.”
Tomorrow would begin the final of the three longest sex scenes. More pink bits. Joy. I checked my watch. It was seven p.m. Damn, it was gonna be a long week.
We filed out of the studio and I took my phone out of the locked box everyone was forced to drop their internet devices into. I noticed I had six missed texts and two missed phone calls from Jaxon and realized I hadn’t warned him I’d be incommunicado.
I dialed his number just as movement caught my attention from my peripheral vision and I glanced up to see him walking toward me. I let out a quiet squeak and made a run for him. “You’re here?”
He caught me and held me close. “Yeah, Rufus, I’m here.”
“I’m so sorry I didn’t call you back. I had to lock my phone up during shooting.”
“I know. I called Brock.”
I met his eyes. “You did?”
“Yeah. Was freakin’ out a little when my second call went unanswered, so I called him and he filled me in.”
I relaxed. “Are you sureyou’renot the stalker?”
Jaxon smiled. “Maybe not say that so loud.”
I grimaced. “Good point.”
“You ready to go?”
“With you?”
“Yep. Dallas is with your sister tonight.”
“Oh, my god, really?” I asked hopefully. “I don’t have to go back to the hotel? I get you all night?”
He chuckled. “Yeah, Rufus, I’m all yours.”
I bit my lip. “Good. ’Cause, I got plans.”
“Well, come on,” he said, and we made our way out to his car.
