“Nope,” he said, and took my hand, spinning me to face him again. “We’re not doing that.”
“Jax,” I said with a sigh.
“Lean in, Rufus, we’re doing this.”
“I’m not good at leaning in.”
“No shit?” he deadpanned.
I rolled my eyes.
“How about you just relax and let me do the figurin’?”
I looped my arms around his neck. “Okay, Gazzo.”
“Shit, you know Gazzo?”
“I happen to love the entire Rocky franchise.”
“See? I knew you were perfect,” he said, leaning down to kiss me.
I broke the kiss and stroked his cheek. “You really want me to be all in?”
“Yeah.”
“I’m not always in this good of a mood. Sometimes I’m difficult.”
He grinned. “I already figured that out.”
“You just lost points, buddy. You’re supposed to tell me I’m never difficult.”
“If you really were never difficult, then you’d never be any fun, and I didn’t sign up for boring.”
I raised an eyebrow. “Oh,really? You signed up?”
“Sure did.”
“How come I didn’t get the chance to do that?”
He raised an eyebrow. “Because you’re not always in a good mood and difficult.”
I burst out laughing, dropping my head to his chest. “Oh, my god.”
He gave me a gentle squeeze and kissed me again. “You hungry?”
“Starving.”
“Let me see what’s in my fridge. We might need to go out.”
“Or we can run to the store and I can cook.”
He grinned. “Yeah, baby, I’m all over you cooking.”
“You’re ridiculously easy to please.”
“Am I?”
“It certainly seems that way, but it could also be good timing.” I nodded. “I love to cook and never get the chance, so it’s a win-win.”
