I pull my face out of Lucy’s neck to look at her, sitting properly in her director’s chair and nibbling on a tea sandwich.

“Eat it, and be glad it’s just yours. Plenty of times that Henry did this, there were ten men before him.”

Ignoring the way my dick twitches atthatthought, I lay Lucy down and spread her. Seeing my essence all over her messy pussy makes me ravenous, and as much as I want to shove it all back inside, I also want to lick it all out. Spreading her open, I immediately head for her clit, making her vibrate with a series of teasing licks.

“Don’t make her come, Sasha. You’re both done for the day. She needs to be feral for you before you come back for your next scene. Much more so than today. Just clean her up.”

A frustrated scream tears from Lucy’s throat, and I almost tell her I’ll take care of her at home before I remind myself we don’t do that, and the cottage isnothome. I diligently do as I’m told, dramatically licking every drop of cum from her, ignoring the disappointment I feel that she’s no longer messy with me. I’mpleased knowing that my tongue isn’t deep enough to get every drop out, though, and I hate it.

Finally, Blanche yells “Cut!” for the final time, and Sunshine and I head back to the cottage. We’ve been promised a debrief to discuss the positives and negatives from today and make the next scene better for everyone involved, and all we have left is to go back and shower off. While we’re rinsing off, holding each other and trying to think of what to say after…whateverthatwas, Lucy’s shoulders start shaking. Assuming she’s crying, I pull away from her to see her face.

“Sunshine? Are you okay?”

As soon as I ask, the shaking intensifies before she bursts into laughter.

“It’s just…sofunny. That has to be like the weirdest thing anyone’s ever done, right? Did shetouch your dickat one point?”

I bark out a laugh of my own at that. “Yeah, she touched my dick. I had already halfway forgotten about that, though, so thanks.”

She finally stops laughing and tilts her head back to rinse her hair, looking like a siren under a waterfall, waiting for her next prey. It’s me. It’s for sure me, and I’m coming without a fight, too.

“Sasha?”

“Yes, Sunshine?”

She finishes her rinse and gives me the poutiest eyes I’ve ever seen. Whatever she’s about to ask for, she can have it.

“I’m hungry.”

I’m not sure I feel relief or disappointment at her simple statement, but it’s something I know I can fix, at least.

“Thin crust with cheese only, side of ranch, then curly fries from the place down the road? I’ll wait and get them on the way back so they’re hot.”

I swear her eyes turn to hearts before she crushes me in a hug.

“You’re my hero.”

I kiss her forehead and leave her in the shower before heading out for her dinner. The drive brings clarity that I always seem to lack around her. Or is it that I’m perfectly myself around her, and foggy when I’m not? Either way, one thing’s for certain—if she wants a hero, I’m not the guy for her. I’m not sure who’ll be more crushed when she finds out the truth about my background. Her, feeling like she doesn’t know me at all, or me. Watching her walk away after I hoped it wouldn’t matter.

Chapter sixteen

“Good morning, Sunshine,” Sasha says, handing me a coffee as I walk into the kitchen, yawning.

I take the cup from his hand and grunt out a greeting as he ruffles my tangled bed hair and kisses my temple. Sighing, I amble toward the table and sink into a chair. It’s not that I don’t like his kisses, but his little acts of endearment confuse the hell out of me. It’s all confusing. We live together. We sleep cuddled in the same bed every night. We spend most of our spare time together. Having a wonderful time, might I add. And for Christ’s sake, we fuck most days on set.

“When did this switch to where you’re the grumpy one in the morning?” Sasha asks, sitting in the chair beside me with two bowls of cereal.

I roll my eyes at him but can’t stop myself from smiling. “I think the question is why are you up so early? And already dressed?”

“Jack invited everyone over for a pool day, so I…what is it?” He stops mid-sentence, looking at me with concern.

I didn’t realize my expression had changed, but I can feel how dramatically I’m frowning. All this acting must be getting to my head.I’m trying to think of something, literally anything, to say as an excuse, but nothing comes to mind. With a sigh of concession, I go for it. “Honestly, Sasha, I just miss you when you’re not around. It’s…lonely without you. I moved across the country and immediately landed this lovely gig, which didn’t leave much time for getting to know people. And with Amanda being unreachable…It’s going to sound pathetic, but you’re kind of my only friend right now.”

I wince as I watch a parade of emotions cross his face. I’m half expecting him to laugh at me and walk away. But he doesn’t. He smiles softly, all the way to his eyes, and takes my face in his hands. “I miss you too.” He pauses to gently kiss my head, inhaling my scent a moment before pulling back to look at me with one of his goofy grins on his face. “Come with me.”

“Excuse me?”

“Come with me! There’s no reason for you to be here all by yourself.”
