So why is she calling me for help?
I shiver, knowing something more is going on.
What in the actual fuck?
I have to get back to the others.
I race through the halls, back towards the media room. Luckily, the guys are still in there.
“My mother just called,” I blurt. “She’s in some kind of mental institution.”
Synn drops the controller he’s holding, jumping up from his seat. “What? What about our mothers?”
“I don’t know for sure, man. The call kept breaking up. All I could make out was that all the mothers are hidden away, and there’s some kind of danger. She said my father, but nothing concrete. She doesn’t know where she’s at. Some fucking orderly or someone interrupted her and dragged her away.”
“Dammit. I knew something was wrong. They must be aware of things our piece of shit fathers don’t want us to know,” Synn grits out, face turning red with anger.
“We need to find out exactly where they’re all at. My bet is they’re separated. Our fathers wouldn't stash them all in the same place,” Frost says ever the voice of reason.
“We all need to try and find out somehow,” I say, chewing the inside of my cheek.
“We need to get out of here,” Ghost adds adamantly, fists clenched at his sides.
“You know we can’t, man. Bambi would be in worse danger,” Trikk says.
Fucking balls. I know he’s right. The only thing I can do is go hack.
“I’m going to the computer lab to start looking,” I inform them.
“Yeah, go do that,” a pacing Razor answers.
I race out of the room, over to the lab Thor and Bill work in. I need the extra sets of hands on this.
I barrel inside, startling them both.
There's another guy with them. I think he said his name was Lee.
I nod towards all of them. “I need to get locations for our mothers. Mine called from some kind of mental hospital. They're hidden somewhere.”
“Shit. Let me text Jax to make sure it’s ok to proceed.” Thor types, a ping sound coming back right away.
Thor glances up at us.” Jax said go ahead. On it, man.” He immediately spins back around, hitting the keyboard with emphasis.
“I’ve got your back,” Bill says, surprisingly.
“I’ll help too, of course,” Lee follows up.
“Thanks guys. I need it.” I’m not ashamed to admit.
We all get to work. I’m going to narrow down all public and private institutions within a sixty-mile radius from where our families all live.
Time is of the essence—I can feel it in my bones.
Ghost
I slip through the compound, trying to find somewhere quiet to do something really fucking stupid.
I need to know where the hell my mother is.
