Spinning on my heel, I go to the others, spying my Iskra laughing with Synn, Frost, Harris, Sam, and Cynthia.
I go and kiss my girl, holding her tight. I can’t wait for this to be over.

I'm paired up with Ghost and Trikk. Razor is on the team covering the P.E. and cafeteria buildings. We're scouring the admin building.
There’s way more students fucking around in here than I thought there would be.
They're laughing, fucking, and having loud conversations, strewn all throughout the building. No one is fighting, thankfully. That makes it easier to get their attention to explain and ask them to follow us.
I don’t see any staff; they must have already been dealt with.
“Hey, fuck you! Where's my drugs?” Some girl yells my way, eyes bouncing around her skull. She's strung out or something.
She pushes me hard, and I trip over my own feet, landing hard on my ass.
Valley goes absolutely postal.
She flies at the girl. In a whir of fists and threats, beating the crap out of her. I've never seen her this way. It's impressive, and pretty hot, too.
She finishes the girl off with a punch to her throat, then skips back over to me.
Valley squeezes my hand, warming my insides.
I was surprised that she was included in the mission at all. But she was determined to help.
After seeing her in action, I can see she can hold her own.
My girl is so strong and brave.
We finally finish checking every nook and cranny, running into Razor with his small group of students. We herd the thirty or so students out to where everyone is waiting. It looks like we’re the last team back.
We move to where the others are huddled, and Valley launches at Phoenyxx and Cynthia for hugs.
Harris and Synn both nod to me, and Synn reaches out to squeeze my shoulders.
“Good job, man,” he tells me.
Harris glances over and acknowledges me. “Yes, thanks. Good to have you on board, my friend.”
Whoa. I think I just came full circle.
I can’t hide the smile spreads over my face.
Friends, a forever girl.
