Razor rushes over to him, clapping a hand on his shoulder. “No, brother. No Raging Out just yet.”
Pretty Girl continues. “The black-haired one is Horns, the brunette is Skull, and the redhead is Jester.”
“You’re quite sure of this?” Jax questions.
“One hundred percent. I'd know those voices anywhere.”
“I can verify too,” a small, female voice comes from the doorway.
Cynthia goes to Pretty Girl, who hands her one of her ear buds.
Luckily, they’re still standing there, talking.
Cynthia's eyes go huge. “Yep, that is them.”
A roar in the background has us all turning. Sam looks downright terrifying as his face morphs to something psychotic. I didn’t even notice he was in the room.
“It is them. They will die,” Sam snarls.
“Okay, this is a fantastic start. Now, I’ll get a couple of my military guys to go do recon, meaning they will only be observing the physical location. In the meantime, I want some of you working on getting more information about the place,” Jax orders.
Everyone murmurs their agreement, and The Six, Sam, and Pretty Girl file out the door. My sister stays behind.
To my dismay, Cynthia perches on Thor's lap, who kisses the top of her head.
I clutch the sides of my own head in aggravation and shove my chair back. I can’t sit here and observe—I may hurt Thor. Jax nods at me, so I take that as permission to leave for the moment.
I catch up to everyone, and go right for Pretty Girl, throwing my arm over her shoulders. I need my head to clear, and she’s my best bet at that.
“Love you, Hunter. I need some time to talk to Sam, though,” she apologizes.
“Anything you want, Pretty Girl.”
I can wait.
Sam
The promise of death sings through my veins. To say it’s a long time coming is an understatement. All three of the masks willpay for what they’ve done.
I turn to see Maverick, Tyler, and Black in deep conversation. They must be the ones assigned to recon detail.
Em’s face shows a shadow of an idea before she steels it again. My bad girl is planning something—I can tell.
“Em, what are you thinking?” I ask in her ear as I walk up beside her.
“I don’t know what you mean.” Em attempts an innocent look, but I know better.
“We will talk later. Do not do anything on your own. Clear?”
“My, my—look how badass you’re getting. It's hot.” Em shrugs with a grin.
I stare her down. “Don’t make me tie you to the bed.”
“Promises, promises,” she shoots back.
Shaking my head, I decide to stick to her like glue. If she tries anything, I'll know.
