Lana sat on the bleachers and tried to focus on her homework. But it was hard as hell when she knew Jayson was on the footballfield. She kept looking up to watch him in his tight pants and the rest of his uniform.
She knew nothing about sports. Just that boys played them and that was their thing. Now, if they were talking about guns, explosives, and things along those lines, then she could keep up with the conversation and knew what they were talking about.
Other than that, she was a total girl. She knew nothing about ‘guy’ things beyond that.
“Aww look, newbie scoobie is watching football practice. She must think the football hottie is going to take notice of her.”
Lana rolled her eyes when she heard Amber’s whiny voice attempting to mock her for sitting in the bleachers like Jayson told her to do. She continued to ignore the girls and let them have their fun.
“Hey, bitch! I’m talking to you!”
“Think she’s deaf?”
“Nah, she thinks my man will come save her skanky ass.”
Lana rolled her eyes again. Great, it was Ashe, Amber, and Haley. She had to admit she was surprised the rest of the cheerleading squad didn’t try to start shit with her. It was just the three usual sore losers harassing her.
“Don’t you three need to be with your team and practice your cheers? I believe that’s why it’s called cheerleading practice.”
“New girl has jokes! I have one for you, bitch! Stop chasing Jayson. You will never be his. He belongs to me!”
“I didn’t know he was a possession. Does he know he’s supposed to be a puppy dog that you swat with a paper when he’s a bad boy? I thought he was a human being who can make his own decisions. Oh wait, he is. You’re just pissed because those decisions don’t include you. Get the message, Ashe! He doesn’t want you. He hasn’t been with you in several months. He has dreams and goals! You don’t support those dreams and goals, soyou need to find another little puppy to kick and make him your daddy’s gopher.”
“Well, lookie who has a backbone and thinks she’s good enough to stand up to me! I’m the one riding his dick, bitch!”
Jayson jogged up to them and threw a filthy look at Ashe. “You haven’t been on my dick in several months! You have been on severalotherdicks since I ended things with you. Don’t think I don’t know about those, Ashe. I also know what you’ve been telling people about why you haven’t been on my dick at the same time you’re begging and pleading for me to give you another chance. Amber and Haley, you two cunts better leave Lana be. You three keep your shit up, and I will blare all your business in this town, including your daddy’s. Let’s see how much longer he’s mayor when they find out he’s fucking his own daughter and her guppy friends when mommy is away!”
“Y-you’re a liar! I would never bang my father. That’s gross, Jayson!”
“Please! Everyone knows he’s your stepfather! Your real daddy got booted to the curb for your stepfather because he had more money. Your momma is a gold-digger just like she’s trying to make you. Let’s go, Lana. I need to change out of my uniform so I can take you home, baby.”
CHAPTER
FIVE
Lana allowed Jayson to lead her away from the small group without a moment’s hesitation.Holy shit, what the hell did I get myself into!
“You good, baby?”
“Yeah, I’m good. Go get a quick shower and change. I’ll hang out here.”
Lana leaned back against the wall and waited for Jayson to quickly shower and change back into his regular clothes. She honestly started to question her decision to see where this went.
Today’s showdown was going to be the first of many, she knew it. Did she have it in her to deal with this day in and day out?
“Lose the negative thoughts, baby! You’re not going anywhere but with me to my car so I can take you home.”
“How’d you know what I was thinking?”
Lana huffed when Jayson stopped in the middle of the parking lot and stared at her. How could someone see inside her soul so fast like he had?
“Because, Lana, your eyes give you away. I meant what I said. You are mine. I protect what is mine.”
Lana looked up at Jayson with wonder. He thinks he can protect her, but there was so much he didn’t know about her.
If he truly knew what she needed protection from, would he still want her? Yeah, he could protect her from Ashe and her horde, but there was so much more he didn’t know about.
“You can’t protect me from everything, Jayson.”
