“She didn’t drug him, drug him. Just put Viagra in his beer to make him get his dick up,” Peter defended himself.
“It’s still rape, Peter,” Sgt. Bueller pointed out. “You said it yourself, the man pushed her away and told her no and that his dick only worked for Lana. You also said this Ashe person bragged about spiking his drink with Viagra. What’s to say she didn’t spike it with something else? You also stated he was blackout drunk. He’d already said no to her, doing what she did to Jayson is no different than if it had been a man doing it to a woman.”
“Wait, you said there were pictures?” Rocky jumped in. “Do you still have access to that thread?”
“Y-yes,” Peter hesitantly admitted pulling out his phone and handing it to Rocky.
“You seriously still have it? Man, we’ve been friends since fucking kindergarten!” Jayson seethed, taking a step toward Peter.
“Jayson, we’ll handle it legally. I went too far with my comment. Peter lashed out over that. Peter, for the record, it wasn’t Jayson who told me about it. It had been Doug when he lashed out at you over your comment about him fucking Jayson’s leftovers when you went at him about fucking Ashe in high school. You both were going at each other, drunk off your asses. Jayson had to break you both up and drive you home,” Lana informed both men, trying to calm the situation.
Lana watched both men glare at each other for several minutes before Peter sighed deeply again and held out his hand to Jayson. Lana and her teammates waited with bated breath for Jayson’s reaction.
“I’m sorry, Jayson. I was in the wrong.”
Lana let out the breath she was holding. That was until Jayson stepped into Peter’s space.
“Not accepted. You know this whole time what had happened to me and told me the opposite happened. You knew those photos were circulating and failed to tell me.Youthrew awaythis friendship. Youknewhow fucked I have been about things with Lana. I fucking confided in you on how messed in the head I was between that and my fucked-up op. Bueller, do me a favor and delete my fucking number from his phone when you’re done with it.”
Lana’s heart broke as Jayson stormed off without a backward glance at any of them. That was until her sgt. asked a question that had her nearly falling on her ass with how quick she turned around.
“Deputy James, why are you informing this Ashe woman of Jayson and Lana’s movements and who stayed at whose home?”
“Really, Peter? Even before Jayson knew, you went to Ashe about me being back and that I had his kid?” Lana asked as she read over the texts her sergeant pointed out to her.
“What does Ashe have on you that has you being her bitch boy?”
“Nothing!” Peter answered loud and quick.
“How old were you when you slept with the girl she keeps reminding you of? Better yet, how old was the girl?” Sgt. Bueller asked, looking up from the phone beside Lana.
“What the fuck is she talking about?” Jayson asked from behind Sgt. Bueller.
Well, fuck a duck. Shit was really hitting the fan this morning.
CHAPTER
TWENTY-THREE
Jayson secured their conference room so they could get the information Peter was hiding for years. Once everyone had taken their seats, including Lt. Brown who’d come up on them as they surrounded Peter to keep him from running.
Lana, Rocky, Sunny, and Hollywood purposely sat near Jayson because they knew his world was going to be turned upside down by what information he was about to give. They wanted to make sure there was someone nearby to keep the mayhem at bay as best as possible.
“How did Ashe get her hooks into you, Peter?” Lana asked, drumming her finger on the conference table as she glared at Peter.
“What the hell does that mean?” Peter asked defensively.
“It means when did you become Ashe’s bitch? You used to hate the fucking ground she walked on. Used to stand up to her,” Jayson answered for Lana, his voice hard and cold.
“You fucking left me in this hellhole and fucking forgot me!” Peter screamed at Jayson, startling both Lana and Jayson.
“Start from the beginning so us outsiders understand what the hell you’re talking about,” Sgt. Bueller requested, her tone even and calm.
“Jayson and Ashe were the ‘it’ couple in high school. She was the cheerleader, and he was the hot shot football player. Ashe was a fucking bully who got away with it as long as Jay didn’t know what she was doing. He kept her in line, mostly. After our junior year ended, his ass broke up with her, and she went off the fucking rails then. He ended things with Ashe and didn’t even look back when he did so.”
“Doesn’t explain what she has on you,” Sunny reminded him.
“I’m getting there,” Peter snapped at Sunny. “When Lana appeared the beginning of our senior year, Jayson’s ass went on total lockdown. No other chick or person existed in his life.”
