“I’m literally going to die if I don’t come soon,” she said dramatically.

“We can’t have that,” I teased.

I circled my tongue around her opening, then licked my way inside, fucking her with my tongue while I used my thumb to circle her clit. I pressed against the little button, adding pressure while I continued teasing her with my tongue. I could have done that all night, but Tori’s inner muscles were trembling, telling me she was close.

I caught her clit between my fingers, giving her a firm pinch, and it was enough to make her lose control. She bucked against my face, her thighs pressed almost painfully against my head, with my name on her lips like a prayer.

I’d never felt so powerful in my life.

I continued to stroke her until the aftershocks subsided and her body went slack. Then I grabbed the blanket from the bottom of the bed, and brought it over us, snuggling on the pillow next to a shell-shocked looking Tori.

“Are you okay there?” I asked.

“I think maybe we both died,” she said, referencing my earlier comment. “Because the way I feel right now, it’s what I imagine heaven feels like.”

I fell a little bit more in love with her at that moment.

She lifted her head to give me a sweet kiss before releasing a long, sigh. “I am going to sleep very well tonight.”

We both did.

Over the next thirty-six hours we made love so many times I lost count. By the time I needed to go to work Monday morning I could hardly walk. I had bites on my neck, my breast, and my inner thigh, and an unfortunate bruise on my ass from where we rolled off the bed during a particularly vigorous lovemaking session. And that’s what it was too – lovemaking, not just having sex.

We’d had an incredible weekend together, but real life was coming at us fast. As the weekend wore on, Tori was receiving increasingly urgent messages from her mother, her agent, and her publicist, wondering about her whereabouts. Her assistant Pepper warned her late last night that her chief bodyguard had launched an investigation, trying to track her down himself.

“Pepper says her telling people I’m fine and just laying low for a few days isn’t enough. They want proof of life.”

“You can’t hide out forever,” I’d reminded her.

“I know,” she’d said sadly. “But I was hoping for at least a few more days.”

On Monday I left Tori asleep in my bed and headed down to Daily Jolt for my six a.m. shift. Normally the early hour didn’t bother me, but I hadn’t gotten a lot of sleep last night, thanksto the insatiable actress who’d invited herself to stay at my apartment.

When I went up on my lunch break Tori was waiting for me with a huge smile. “I made you lunch,” she said proudly.

I looked at the plates set up on the table. Peanut butter sandwiches were cut into squares, with sliced apples making a circle around the bread. A salad sat in a large bowl in the center of the table, a tube of Pringles next to it.

I loved the way it echoed the first things I fed her when she arrived Friday. I also loved that she hadn’t tried to cook. The woman had no idea what she was doing in the kitchen.

“This is awesome,” I said. “Thank you.”

“This might sound weird,” Tori said. “But can we order a pizza tonight? With pepperoni? I never have pizza.”

“Whatever you want,” I promised. “I can happily eat pizza every day.”

“At least we can have one more quiet night before the real world intrudes on us.”

But as it turned out, the real world was closer than she thought. Right at the end of my shift, two hulking men in black tactical pants, boots, and black tee shirts walked into Morning Joltlike they owned the place. I knew immediately they were Tori’s bodyguards. No one in Seattle dressed like that.

I slipped behind the pastry display while they approached my coworker, Hannah.

“Ma’am, we’re looking for Victoria Cross. Have you seen her?”

Hannah’s eyes got huge. “The movie star? Why would she be here at Morning Jolt? Is she filming a movie nearby.”

I slipped my phone out of my pocket, texting Tori. I was glad that we’d exchanged phone numbers at some point this weekend. When I looked up, one of the men was staring at me suspiciously, like he knew I was alerting his prey that he was here.

My phone beeped.
