I didn’t have a whole lot of ink myself. Only a set of paw prints along my side. A personal tribute to my dog. Looking at Dom’s mostly unmarked body made me want to mark it up. Teeth marks. Knife marks. Whatever felt right at the time. It was only fair. I still bore the cut from his blade on my neck.

My phone vibrated as a text message came in, startling me from my thoughts.

Hey kiddo, how’s it going? You should come by for dinner sometime soon. Bring Damon if you want.

My mom and I kept in touch regularly. Although she didn’t know about the activity Damon and I engaged in to make a living, she knew almost everything else about me. We were relatively close.

In my eyes my mom was a superhero. Able to hold together the family and raise two kids after kicking my dad’s homophobic ass to the curb. At the age of fifteen I’d come out to my parents. My mom had already known, as some parents do. She accepted me with open arms no matter what.

Unfortunately, my dad wasn’t so understanding. He immediately kicked me out of the house, telling me no son of hiswould be a fag. He made sure to throw me down on the ground, breaking my wrist before tossing my things onto the front lawn.

My mom lost her shit. She filed for divorce the very next day. None of us had spoken to him since the divorce was finalized. My dad had tried repeatedly to see my younger brother but had been denied. Alex had my back, refusing to have anything to do with my father, even when I told him I would understand if he wanted to see him.

Mom had recently started dating again. Her boyfriend seemed like a nice guy. He treated Mom like a queen and had not once shown any judgment towards me.

Sure, when were you thinking? Can you make that barbeque chicken dish we had last time? It’s so fucking good. I can come by early to help.

After sending my reply, I saw the typing bubbles pop up right away. Knowing my mom as well as I did, I wasn’t surprised when her first response was to scold me for my filthy language.

Must every sentence include the word fuck? I’m sure I can make the chicken. Let me know which weekend works for you. I’m flexible.

I sent her back a stupid gif of the word fuck popping up over and over on the screen. Chuckling to myself, I sat up enough to drink my beer before settling back down on the couch.

The sound of the front door opening indicated Damon’s arrival. He wouldn’t say no to dinner at my mom’s. It was usually the best meal either of us had for a while. The thud of his bag dropping in the front sitting room was followed by his heavy footsteps as he went to the kitchen. Like me, he went to the fridge and helped himself to a beer.

The kitchen allowed him to look down through the wooden railing to where I lay sprawled in the living room. “You lazy shit. Did you forget that it’s your day to do the dishes and tidy the kitchen?”

Switching out of the text conversation with my mom, I returned to Dominik’s social media. “I’ll get to it. Just relaxing a little first. It’s been a bit of a crazy day.”

Damon descended the stairs into the living room. Plucking the phone from my grasp, he eyed the screen. “This infatuation with Dom is dangerous, don’t you think? I thought you were supposed to kill him.”

I sat up enough to swipe the phone out of his hand. “I am and I will. After I have a little fun with him first.”

Shoving my legs aside, Damon sat down on the end of the couch. “I know it’s none of my business who you fuck, but in this case, I think it might be. You’re going to get us killed. The Kings took out River and Colt. It’s only a matter of time until they come for us too. Messing around with Dom can’t end well for me and you.”

I dismissed his concerns with an eye roll. “They’re not going to kill us. They have no reason to. The past is the past. When I get through with Dom, he won’t have it in him to kill me.”

I thought about the look in his eyes when I fisted his cock. The combination of rage and desire that left him breathless and entirely at my mercy. Remembering his ragged moans was enough to bring my cock back to life.

“I really hope you know what you’re doing.” Damon snatched up the TV remote, leaning back against the couch. “If this shit with Dom goes sideways, I want nothing to do with it.”

“You worry too much.” I rolled off the couch, shoving to my feet. “I’m going to grab a shower. I was thinking about Chinese for supper. Is that cool?”

Damon waved me away as I left the room. “Yeah, sure, whatever.”

I didn’t blame him for being concerned. Our history with the Kings was terrible. Two of our best friends had met their endat the hands of the Graveyard Kings. I didn’t intend to go down that way.

Pausing at the base of the stairs, I said, “I hear the Kings are having a Valentine’s Day party this weekend. We should check it out.”

Damon gawked at me like I’d truly lost my mind. “You’re looking for trouble. You know damn well we’re not welcome at those parties anymore.”

I grinned, remembering Dom’s face as he came in my hand. “I’m pretty sure they won’t throw us out.”

Ignoring Damon’s muttering, I headed upstairs to my bedroom and into the attached bathroom. While I undressed, I studied Dom’s shirtless photo. He was too fucking delicious not to taste him. Maybe it was risky. Maybe it would all blow up in my face. It was a chance I was willing to take.

While the hot shower sprayed down on me, I wrapped my hand around my cock. Lost in the memory of touching Dom, I jerked myself off. Thinking about what it would be like to have him on his knees for me. To choke him with my cock.

Did he wonder the same thing about me? I sure as hell hoped he did now.
