Neither Hayden nor Kole seem to care where or when they take me, and we always end up doingsomethingsexual throughout the day.

I might think that my suppressants aren’t working, but I’m not feeling the urge to nest, so I must just be really horny.

When we have a free moment, we touch base with Declan, but otherwise we’re left to our own devices. Hayden and I play cards, Kole beats everyone at pictionary, we’ve watched every DVD in the house.

Sam obsessively checks the perimeter once every hour, not trusting the system completely to keep us safe. Somehow he manages to cookus all delicious meals three times a day. West has become my resident foot-massager and back-rubber.

It’s a good life—for now. But I’m starting to get antsy for answers.

So when the phone rings on the nightstand, despite still being knotted to Kole on the bed, I grab it.

“Lisichka—” Kole starts to protest, but I shush him, answering the phone and putting it on speaker.

“Tell me Brooks is talkin’.” It’s hard to keep my voice even when Kole pulses inside me, but I manage to sound like I mean business.

“Hello to you too.” Declan chuffs. “I’m fine, Jo, how are you today?”

“I’m great, thanks for askin’.” I roll my eyes. “Now—onto the important stuff—Brooks. Is he singin’ yet?” Honestly, I’m surprised he’s withstood Rory’s torture for as long as he has.

“Like a damn canary.” I can hear Declan’s grin on the other end of the line. “You’ll want your guys in here for this.”

“Hey Hayden?” I shout towards the hallway, and then my fire demon is poking his head in. “Would you mind grabbin’ the rest of the guys? Dec has some news for us.”

Hayden disappears, and I hear him calling after Sam and West. “Are you alone now?” Dec asks, suddenly sounding unsure.

I frown, looking back at Kole. Welp. I’m as alone as I can be. “Yeah? What’s up?”

“I…these guys…they’re good to you, right?”

A little laugh leaves me. “Yeah, Dec. They’re better to me than I deserve.”

Kole’s cock pulses inside me again as his fingers dig into my hips. I reach behind me to lightly smack at whatever skin I can reach. I think I got his shoulder. He only wraps his arms around me tighter.

“Impossible,” Dec grunts. “But…good. I’d hate to have to kill them after everything you’ve gone through together.”

A real laugh bursts out this time. “That won’t be necessary.”

“Good. Listen, Jo—”

“I got the troops!” Hayden announces proudly, cutting Declan off. West and Sam trail in behind him, looking mildly concerned.

I huff. “Hold on, Dec.” I put the phone on mute.

“Jo…” Sam warns as he takes in mine and Kole’s position, and I roll my eyes.

“Calm down, Sammy-boy. I’m not tryin’ to trick you into fuckin’ me.”

Wiggling slightly, I test the resistance of Kole’s knot. He grunts, but then slips out, and I briefly mourn the loss of him before grabbing a random t-shirt off the floor and pulling it on. Grabbing the collar, I take a deep sniff and smile.

Sam.

I look at Kole and shrug. “I don’t need to be talkin’ to my brother while my alpha is knot-deep inside me.”

Hayden snorts, and Kole shakes his head, also grabbing some clothes to put on. This seems like a conversation that does not require nudity.

Properly covered, I take Declan off mute. “Sorry, Dec. What were you sayin’?”

He sighs, and I can hear the resignation in his voice. “We’ll continue that conversation later. But about Brooks—he’s given us names, which gets us one step closer to making sure we can release the information we stole without it being intercepted.”
