He snorted. “I’malwayshungry. High or not, I can always put away some food.” He grinned at me. “You gonna cook me some food, little mama? Or do I have to go dig out something like ramen noodles?”

I scowled.Fucking ramen noodles. “You’renotstarting your damn day off with fucking noodles, Blayke.”

His eyes brightened. “Does that mean you’ll make breakfast?” The son of a bitch even puckered out his bottom lip a little as if that would help his case at all.

He was so fucking lucky he was so damn good-looking. He tended to make some really ridiculous faces.

I sighed and rolled my eyes, then patted his cheek condescendingly. “You’re lucky you’re cute, Gabel,” I grumbled, calling him by his last name. I pushed off his lap, then headed for the house, only to be stopped by Geek, who was rushing outside, his cheeks flushed red and out of breath like he’d just finished running a marathon.

Hell, maybe for Geek, it felt like he had. The man was fit enough, but I didn’t think he actually ran all that much. Pretty sure he spent most of his day in front of a computer screen.

“I’ve got a location for the group rising up against Alejandro,” he panted, speaking so fast, it nearly sounded like one long word.

Blayke and Halo were on their feet immediately, food long forgotten. Grabbing my hand, Blayke tugged me after Geek, who was already rushing back inside. We ascended the staircase andentered Geek’s room, where he had multiple monitors set up. It looked like a tech guy’s wet dream, honestly.

Gidget and Alejandro were already waiting. Gidget was leaning against the wall, arms and ankles crossed, his chin resting on his chest, eyes closed. Alejandro was sitting in the chair beside the one I imagined Geek had been occupying. Alejandro’s right hand man, Miguel, who I hadn’t seen around all that much, was standing behind Alejandro, tablet in his hand.

Geek quickly took a seat in front of the huge desk and pulled up a map. On it, he’d made a red circle around three warehouses. They looked long abandoned, if the map was anything to go by. Then, on another screen, he hit play on a video, showing black vans coming and going. On another screen, he played another video, this one showing a gun exchange. Cash was handed over, while other men transferred the guns from the vans into one of the warehouses.

“We sure the white man is Russian?” I asked.

Geek nodded, then turned on some kind of audio.

“They are getting close. We cannot wait much longer,” the Hispanic man said.

“Patience. We have to bide our time. We do not have the numbers to go against Alejandro Garcia yet. Making a move now will get all of us killed. And all of this will have been for nothing.”

“What’s in it for you?” the Hispanic man spanned his arms wide. “Mexico offers nothing to you.”

“A trade deal with you is in it for me, and wiping out the VP and that little tech guy they have will weaken the Satan’s Worshippers MC. I need their territory for transport.”

Geek paused it and looked at us. “That proof enough?”

I nodded once. Blayke gripped my hips, tugging me so my back was flush to his chest. Sliding his arms around my waist, he said, “So, now we need a plan. They don’t know we’ve discoveredtheir location yet, so we need to act fast. Two teams should be ideal. One to infiltrate, the other to capture. Everyone but those two mother fuckers on the screen die on the scene.”

“I’ll have a team ready for clean-up,” Alejandro announced. “Think you five can handle the first part of the task on your own?”

Halo nodded, then looked at Blayke. “Team one, which can be me and Gidget, can go in and take out people. Doesn’t look like there’s many recruits yet.”

“Noah will go with you,” Blayke stated. I tensed. “You three will get inside, let me know how many people are in there, and take up station. I’ll make a grand entrance, which will distract them, and then we can all start dropping bodies. Geek will watch our six from here and keep us informed of any movement we may not see.”

“Like fucking hell,” I seethed. I shoved his arms from around my waist and spun around to face him. He winced when I roughly jabbed my fingers against his chest. “You arenotgoing in on your fucking own, Blayke. You coulddiewithout anyone to watch your back.”

Blayke didn’t even bother teasing me. His eyes met mine, and with cold finality, he said, “Mama, you’re not winning this argument. I need you to do as I say. Don’t make me pull rank over you.”

I gritted my teeth, but when he stood resolute, I snarled and stormed away, leaving the room. I heard him sigh from behind me, but he didn’t follow, allowing me to have my space.

I both loved and hated him for it.

“Remember, get inside. Distract. Survive. That’s it,” I ordered. “You take out anyone who isnotthe two men we saw on that monitor.”

“We’re not fucking stupid,” Noah bit back at me through her earpiece. I couldn’t stop the smile from tilting my lips even if I tried.Fuck, I was so in love with this spitfire of a woman. She had me by the fucking balls, and I wasn’t even ashamed of it. In fact, I owned it. Just like she owned me. “If you’d let me work with you?—”

“Nope,” I said, intentionally popping the P just because I knew it would piss her off. “When I go in, it’ll be in the midst of chaos, little mama. I’ll be lucky to make it out without at least getting shot. You’re going to work with the team and let them have your back, understood?”
