Derek:
I’m in makeup in between scenes, so you get me for five minutes tops.
Donovan:
Not that I put a lot of stock into Hot Scoop, given everything, but why are they saying that you’re missing?
Derek:
Not missing. Just lying low. By the way, Hank’s PI friend finally found a promising lead on how Brenda’s connected to Hot Scoop, but it’s going to take more digging. Who would have thought she could cover her tracks so well?
Donovan:
Have you heard from her?
Derek:
More than I’d like. She texts me almost every day now, wanting to meet up and asking where I am. You’re lucky I looked at the name on your text because at first I thought it was her again. I was going to ignore you.
Donovan:
Please don’t ignore me. I barely get to talk to you as it is.
Derek:
I know. I’m hoping filming wraps up quickly, but this director is a little neurotic. Even I’ve had to reshoot a few things.
That wasn’t as egotistical as it sounded. I might not panic every time I do something wrong, but I’m still me.
Donovan:
How did your friends take it when you told them about the trauma Brenda left you with?
Derek:
Need to head back to set. I’ll hopefully have some free time in a couple weeks after your Cataract trip for a call. I want to hear all about the perfect run you’re going to have through the Big Drops.
Donovan:
Wait! Where have you been hiding out?
Derek:
You’ll know where to find me when the time comes. Love you. *heart emoji*
