Taylor’s pale and shaking like a leaf but none of us offer any comfort. She asked for this and now she will deal with the fall out.
“I… I don’t?—”
“What don’t you understand?” Dad hisses, he’s fucking furious. He never yells, he may rule with an iron fist but never like this.
“I heard those guys talking…” Her face falls. “Oh God, my mother was raped and I’m the product of it, aren’t I?”
I expect Dad to sugarcoat the truth but he doesn’t. “Yes.”
A sob tears out of her and her knees give out, but before she can hit the floor, Tiny darts forward and wraps an arm around her waist to keep her upright.
“The Trance Force Brotherhood deals in the skin trade.” Taylor whimpers at Dad’s declaration. “The BCB has been trying to take them down for years. You saw their clubhouse. We’re so close to finishing those cunts off but we’ll lose it all if they ever get their hands on you.”
“W-why?”
His face slackens and his eyes fill with rage but not at her. “Because I would never go to war against them if there was a chance you would be hurt.”
“Do you see now?” Zav asks, drawing her attention to him. He looks furious but there is also pain in his eyes. “When you took off we thought Scott finally got his hands on you. We did everything we could to keep your identity hidden from him and keep you safe.” Her mouth parts in shock.
“We stormed their clubhouse, both sides lost men but we had to be sure you weren’t there,” I add.
“People died for me?” she rasps out.
“Yes,” Dad answers.
“Oh God,” she chokes out.
“Your actions had repercussions. Good men lost their lives that day. When we saw for ourselves you weren’t there, we tracked you down.”
Her eyes widen at Dad’s admission. “What?”
I smirk. “Do you know how easy it is to bug a phone, sparrow?” I ask.
“That’s how you found me today.” I nod confirming her suspicion. “You knew where I was the whole time when I left?”
“We were always watching. I hated the sight of you with that cunt,” Zavier answers.
“You knew I was coming here that night, didn’t you?” she pushes.
“Yes,” I answer without any guilt. “We thought it was best that Zav was the one to greet you given your… history of course.” Her face is a mask of betrayal.
“Why? Why the fuck would you track me and stalk me?” she snaps.
“Because you belong tous, not just one but all three,” Dad roars, making her jerk in Tiny’s hold. She’s silent for a longtime, then suddenly gasps and rips out of Tiny’s hold and whirls around to face him. Hurt is plastered across her face.
“Did you know about me and who I’m related to?” she asks him. Tiny had only ever spoken to Dad and Zav. I don’t know what it is about Taylor but he’s spoken to her from the first time he met her.
“Yes.”
“Holy shit.” Tiny steps forward and grabs her arms. In two seconds flat, Dad, Zav and I all have our guns drawn and pointed at Tiny but he ignores us.
“How you came to be doesn’t matter. You are good. Sharing DNA with him means nothing. Next week you will be the only one left in your family after we take the last of them out. I don’t see you any differently and nor do they.”
Tears roll down her cheeks. “ I was so mad at Mom,” she whispers. Tiny smiles softly but the sight of the smile on his face makes me cringe. “I thought she married him to get back at me.” Her revelation has Dad reeling back.
“Why the fuck would you think that?” Dad bites out.
She keeps her back to him as she answers. “Because I told her that I had feelings for youandyour sons.”
