She gives me a small smile.“But he doesn’t get to be with me,” she whispers.“You are who I want, Miles.Only you.”

“Fuck, Daze,” I growl, closing the distance between us again as I kiss her hard and deep, my arms tightening as I pull her so she’s flush against me.“I can’t fucking lose you again,” I murmur, my forehead on hers.“Not again, not ever.”

Daisy puts a hand on my cheek.“You won’t, Miles, I promise,” she says.“Do you...do you trust me?”

“Daze,” I murmur, knowing that we both broke the trust we had in each other, doing shit that I’m pretty sure neither of us thought we’d ever do.

But I know bringing that up right now isn’t going to do either of us any good. And while Daisy and I might have a lot to talk about, deep down, I do know I can trust her.

“I know I broke that trust,” she now whispers, her eyes filling with tears.

“So did I,” I say, brushing my thumb across her cheek.“But I do trust you, Daze.I always have.”

She nods, and I kiss her again, wishing we could just move past all of this. But I know it’s going to take time and lots of honesty and probably some fights too before we can.But I’m here for it.I’m not going anywhere because I meant what I said before.

I cannot lose her again.

“Okay, so I should let you get back to work, right?”I ask, giving her a grin.

Daisy laughs, glancing down the corridor to the bar.“If I still have a job.”

Laughing, I drop my arm around her shoulders as we walk back to the bar.“If you don’t, let me know.I’ll call in a favor with my brother.”

“Ewww,” Daisy says, slapping my chest.

We walk out to find Lisa behind the bar and Isaac now nowhere to be seen.Daisy moves behind the long wooden counter as I take a seat, smiling as Lisa walks over.

“I sent him to sit outside,” she says, jerking her thumb at the deck.“Can’t just kick him out,” she adds with a shrug.

“I get it, and look, sorry.I didn’t mean to cause any trouble,” I say.

Lisa laughs, shaking her head at me.“You Olsen boys have always been trouble.”

“Hey,” I say, grinning.“Do not lump me in with that fool I call my brother.”

“You know it’s true, Miles,” she says, giving me a wink.“Now, you ordering or you gonna let my staff get back to work?”

I grin as I say, “I’m ordering, but I’ll take it to go.That alright?”

Lisa smirks as she turns to Daisy and says, “Well, in that case, I’ll leave you in the capable hands of your server.”

She walks off, and I can’t resist leaning over the bar and saying, “Happy to be in your capable hands anytime.”

Daze smirks, swatting a dish towel in my direction as she slides a menu in front of me.“Let me know what you want.”

After I take lunch back to the workshop, stopping to eat with Kai and my dad and do another hour or so of work, I head over to The Pipe Dream to cover the lessons I told Nate I’d do.

When I walk into the shop, Nate, Owen and Flynn are all standing by the rack of custom Olsen boards, chatting and laughing.

“Hey,” I say, walking up to join them. The three of them turn and face me, huge grins on their faces that immediately tell me everything.“Fuck me, my idiot brother told you, didn’t he?”

Flynn lets out a loud laugh, crossing his arms over his chest.“Dude, he messaged us all in the group chat. You didn’t see it?”

I slow blink, pulling my phone from my back pocket only to see a million notifications on my screen that started sometime early this morning and ended literally five seconds ago.I don’t really pay much attention to my phone at the best of times, and right now, I’m sort of wishing I hadn’t looked.

Because when I open up the group chat the guys all have going, I can see my asshole brother has been giving them all a blow-by-blow account of my night, my morning and apparently that Daisy and I are not just talking but actively fucking too.

“Jesus christ,” I mutter as Flynn lets out another laugh.
