On the way to the hotel, I was in my head about Alexis, Galleria, and Journei. One woman was goin’ to die by my hands, one might end up dead by default, and then the last had all of me with no question but didn’t seem to appreciate it.
Alexis’s time was coming to an end within a few days or sooner. My family kept me in the loop, and I was grateful. I was her intended target, and I didn’t need nothin’ happenin’ to my woman or child in the process.
Soaking in the tub was the first thing I did once I walked through my hotel. My body had healed to the point where I was able to submerge under water without my wounds being affected.
It was goin’ on six in the evening when I got through handling my hygiene. I was dressed in a pair of balling shorts and a wife beater, relaxing on the bed. So much had happened inthe last five to six months of my life that small breath of fresh air was welcomed.
A call came through from Journei, which I wanted to ignore once again, but I answered instead.
“Did you feed my son?” I asked.
“Yes, I fed your son, Christian. I’m sorry for how I acted earlier. I was upset and low key scared.”
“We’ll talk about it when I get home.”
“When will that be?” she inquired.
“Remember what I said. Get some rest and don’t stress my son out.”
“Chris—”
Her words were cut short with me hangin’ up. I gave her more conversation than she deserved.
I assumed Journei’s apology was only delivered because she missed me. The feeling was mutual but playing with me like that wasn’t about to go undisciplined.
I wasn’t tryin’ to control her in no shape or form. I just handled the world differently. I saw too much to let things faze me.
I wasn’t saying what had her lash out wasn’t an issue, but if I didn’t know the problem, it couldn’t get dealt with.
As a man, I didn’t want to be yelled at or chastised. I wanted respect at all times, whether she thought I deserved it or not. I gave too much of it not to get it in return.

“Two days, Hades. She’s luring sis to their old crib and sending us after you. Somehow, she found the address to your condo. It’s about to go up, and you need to get ya mind right.”
Kégo hit my line the next morning, givin’ details on Alexis’s plan. I stayed ready so I didn’t have to get ready. Journei, on the other hand, didn’t know what was about to come her way. I didn’t plan on goin’ home just yet, but their lives meant everything to me, so their safety was the priority.
Gatherin’ my things, I walked out the hotel and to my car. Once inside, I checked the cameras and saw my woman was there curled up on the couch. A smile came through, and I was eager to see her.
The drive was literally two minutes. When I got inside my building, Nari shook her head. My face instantly screwed up. “What’s that for, Nari?”
“That girl been in yo’ condo since yesterday afternoon. Where the fuck you been, Mr. Gills?” she sassed.
“Mind your business, Nari. Do I have any messages?”
“No, sir.”
Nari was a sweet girl, but my business was none of hers. I entered the elevator and rode it to my floor. I didn’t know what to expect from Journei, but if it was goin’ to be more yelling, I was leaving once more.
Journei
Iwas in love with Christian, so I wanted him near me every second of the day if possible. I laid eyes on him twenty-four hours after our departure. I caused him to leave, and that feeling alone tore me apart. My choice of actions wasn’t the best, but I couldn’t help the rage I felt at the moment.
You married the woman I love and slithered your way into the heart of the man I love. Count your days, sis, ’cause neither you nor that bastard ass baby will be breathing too much longer. Maybe if I cut it out, you’ll see how it feels to have somethin’ of yours taken away.

That note was living rent free. Her threat didn’t go unheard either. I knew to take any brokenhearted woman serious. Jhene Aiko warned us to beware of that kind through song because the wrath they brought was unmatched.
