Oliver winces.

And Simon starts to laugh. “You ate both burgers, didn’t you?” he says to Oliver. Then he grins at Bea. “May I use anI told you so, my darling?”

She kisses his cheek. “Yes, you may.”

“Forget later this week. Who wants pizza?” I say.

I do.

I want pizza with all of my favorite people.

My best friend.

Her boyfriend.

My boyfriend.

The man I’m going to marry someday. The man I’ll probably even have kids with someday.

Because this Oliver?

He’s everything I never knew I wanted, and so much more.

EPILOGUE

PLOT TWIST

Oliver

My new jobis fucking awesome.

Roughly a week and a half after I arrived in Athena’s Rest, I’m fully in charge of the drive-in theater. Tonight, at the vote of the community, we’re playingSharknado. It’s utterly ridiculous. But everyone has their popcorn, and Daphne and I are in the little building that doubles as control booth and popcorn hub, debating what we should list for choices for the next few weekends of movies.

With school starting, daily showings are going down to weekends only.

Less time to sneak kisses with my girlfriend in the booth, but more time for kissing my girlfriend at home.

Archie’s been a huge help with moving my money around to give me a large enough nest egg that Daph and I will never want for anything, while putting everything else—except my Miles2Go shares—into a new foundation.

And Daphne’s giving her notice at Beeslieve.

It won’t be without tears, but she says that’s a good thing.

That being so sad to leave means both it’s an amazing place and also that helping me give away the rest of my fortune is an even more amazing opportunity.

Carmen—who will definitely be the next CEO at Miles2Go—has confirmed for me that the M2G Foundation will keep up the charitable work I started, so my money can go toward other things.

Like saving the polar bears.

And as an added bonus to this arrangement—we can set our own hours. Which means more time for exploring the area, for working at the drive-in to see all of the movies I’ve missed, for camping, for road trips and lazy afternoons at home.

For fun.

For living.

For loving Daphne.

“I can’t believe you’ve never seenBarbie,” she says to me as she leans over the movie list.
