“And I don’t regret a second of it. I have no doubts at all, Kel, I promise you. I want Cassie in my life. Cassie and you. Permanently. Forever. And if I thought for even a second I could convince you both to move in here tomorrow, I’d be on my knees begging.”

“Ooo, I like that idea.”

“Focus, woman.” I growled, loving where her mind was headed. I mean, I already had plans of spending my evening between her thighs, but we had hours to survive before I could get us naked and horizontal, and I couldn’t spend the day walking around with a hard-on tenting my jeans.

“Sorry,” she apologized, but the evil smirk dancing on her lips told me she wasn’t. Not even a little.

“No, you’re not,” I called her out.

“You’re right, I’m not. But can you blame me? You’re so talented with your tongue.”

The woman was killing me. If I passed out because of lack of blood flow to my brain, then it was all her fault. My balls were aching, and Kellie was to blame. But two could play in this game.

“Just my tongue?” I teased as I skated my fingertips lightly down her arm leaving a trail of pebbled flesh.

Kellie gulped, and as blue as my balls were, I knew I’d won this round. Don’t get me wrong. I was under no illusions who’d win the war, but this battle was mine.

“I know you’re not ready for us all to live together yet. And that’s okay, I get it. But we will. I want you both with me always. I want to go to sleep with you wrapped in my arms and wake with your lips wrapped around my dick,” I told her cheekily. I was already reeling from Cassie’s ‘Dad’ bombshell, so I couldn’t do deep and meaningful right now. I needed another coffee before I did that.

“Well, play your cards right, Mr. Samuels, and you might just get your wish. Tonight anyway,” Kellie sassed as she kissed my throat before slipping through my grasp and going to chase Cassie out the door.

“Oh, I’ll get my wish all right,” I murmured as I watched as she bent over with her ass in the air. “You have no idea what’s coming for you future, Mrs. Samuels.” I chuckled before going to help get us ready.

ChapterTwenty-One

Kellie

While walking back toward Jake’s place, having left him and Cassie in the chicken coop, Nash fell in step beside me.

“Having a good day?” he asked.

“Interesting day,” I answered.

“Does Cassie like what he did to her room?”

“She loves it. And I believe you helped, so thank you.”

“No thanks needed. All I did was paint a couple of walls.” He shrugged off my compliment.

“Well, painting a couple of walls made my little girl very happy.”

“Then it was worth getting purple paint in my hair. So…” he continued, burying his hands in his pockets. “Does this mean we’re going to be seeing you and the munchkin around a lot more?”

“You asking for you or for Jake?”

“Me. Boss man can do his own damn dirty work.”

“Is that a problem?” I countered, getting my back up.

“Whoa! Whoa! Calm down. I struck a nerve there.”

“Sorry,” I apologized quickly, hating that I was still at that place where I was questioning everything. Cassie obviously wasn’t, but ever since she’d dropped the ‘D’ word this morning, everything seemed like more. Like it meant more. Like it was all decided. Like there was no turning back. Not that I wanted to turn back, I just needed time to process, I guess. Having it come out of nowhere had shocked me, and I was reeling. I don’t even know where she’d gotten the idea. Obviously, she’d overheard something she shouldn’t have, but it was what it was. It wasn’t like she’d gotten it wrong so I could correct her, so all we could do is just let it slide and see what happened next. Besides, this was Jake we were talking about. He was so desperate to be her dad that I knew no matter what it was, he wouldn’t let her down. Not now. Not ever.

“You okay, Kellie?” Nash stopped walking and looked at me worriedly.

“Yeah, just been a big morning.”

“Wanna talk about it?” he offered, but I could see the unease on his face. Any other day, I’d torture him, but today, I let him off the hook. “Maybe some other time.”
