Chapter 39

Zachariah

One weekend, a couple of weeks later, I had to leave my son and wife home alone to come in to check on the club.

Life & Lovewas inspired by the women in Travis’ and my life. It fit pretty well, now that things were looking up.

Pulling up to the back of the building, which just so happened to be half a mile from the Las Vegas strip, I had to do a double take.

How the heck did Lynn find this place? She wouldn’t ever be seen in a place like this, as far as I knew.

After shutting the car off, stepping out, and closing the door, I looked her up and down.

She seemed a little too well put together, considering she was living with less money than she had been a year ago. True, it had been a full year now that she had any contact with anyone in my family. A lot can change in that amount of time.

I knew how true that was.

“What are you doing here, Lynn?” I asked when I was a few feet from her.

“I’m actually here to talk to you,” she said, holding her shoulders back, head held high.

“Go ahead,” I waved. There was no way I was going to let her into my building. She was not a member or staff, therefore, not allowed in. My wife would and family would be the only exceptions.

“Can we go inside?” she asked, looking around.

“No one is out here,” I hinted. “Here is perfectly fine.”

“Fine,” she sighed. “How is my daughter?”

“That’s not why you are here,” I said through clenched teeth. She very well knew that, too. “Either state why you are here, or leave. I will call my security if I have to.”

“Who? Travis?” she laughed. “He won’t do anything to me.”

“Do not test me, Lynn,” I seethed, my impatience shining through.

“Fine,” she bit out. “I need a place to stay. The guy I was staying with wants money, and I don’t have any.”

“Then get a job,” I huffed. “I’m not bailing you out. Go to a homeless shelter. From the looks of things, he was taking good care of you.”

“He…” she began before spotting the man she was staying with as he rounded the corner.

“Gotcha,” I laughed, looking between the Dom and this woman.

“There you are, Katty,” Master Bruce spoke. “I thought we were meeting at your place to discuss this.”

“I thought here would be better,” Lynn shrugged, putting on a false smile.

“You want into my club,” I guessed. That made sense. She was probably hoping to be taken in by someone that could possibly have a sway in my choices.

“She does,” Bruce spoke up. “I’ll pay, of course.”

“I think we need to talk, first,” I stated.

“Oh? About what? I didn’t break any rules?” Bruce asked, horrified. I could see that he actually liked this woman for once.

“No, you haven’t. I can understand not wanting to use real names inside my place, but if you two met somewhere else you should know. She’s not who she says she is,” I said, knowing that Lynn would insist to be there as I told this man the truth.

“Katty?” Bruce asked, confused.
