His expression softens. “Okay. I’m cool with that.”

“Just so we’re clear, I’m not saying I don’teverwant to bottom for you. I’m just saying I’m not ready.”

“I know. I kind of assumed we’d end up this way first.”

“Oh, yeah?”

He grins and then nods. “You still aren’t totally into fingering. I think it’s still very awkward for you and you haven’t had a moment where it just feels good. I have. A few times. So this makes the most sense.”

I lean my forehead against his. “For all my teasing, I might be a little more nervous about some things than I let on. Maybe I’m not entirely aware of it all the time.”

“I like your teasing,” Keno promises. “Even during sexy times. It releases some of the pressure to make it feel good. There’s a part of me that thinks if there’s something we don’t like right away, we’re going to stop and just… stop everything.”

“That’s not going to happen.”

He laughs, pressing his face to mine. Our lips brush. “I’m realizing maybe I’m afraid we’re going to not go through with this for some reason and I’m scared of that eventuality.”

My arms tighten around him. “Listen to me, Keno. I’m marrying you. I’m no longer giving you a choice. Understand? Even if we hate everything we do from here on out, we know we like some things. We’re never going to go without orgasms.”

Keno laughs again, shaking his head against mine.

“But I meant what I said. Iammarrying you on June twenty-eighth. No matter what. We will spend the rest of our lives together. We’re going to grow old and chase each other around in a nursing home with hockey sticks. We’ll get in trouble for using one of our dentures as a puck and shooting it down thehall. When we’re ninety we’ll still be getting frisky in our senior citizens’ center. Probably pull a muscle and someone will have to help us make it happen. Like a sex swing to hold one of us and we can just use momentum and gravity to thrust.”

“Oh, my fuck,” Keno says, laughing.

“I. Am. Marrying. You,” I whisper. “Am I clear?”

I feel his smile against my lips. “Crystal clear,” he murmurs.

CHAPTER 28

KENO

Our guest listis closer to 200 than either of us realized. Especially once we added in our hockey friends from around the country. At one point, we realized it seemed silly to try to cut it back, so we went all in. We’re only having one wedding. That’s it. Might as well pull out all the stops so there are no regrets later.

Today, our friends are here and we’re stuffing invites to mail out in an assembly line. Julian is stamping our RSVP envelopes with our PO Box address in the recipient and return address spots to make sure it’s returned to us, no matter what. Then it moves on to Horny, who adds a stamp in the corner and stuffs the RSVP card under the envelope flap. He hands them to Hilt, who adds them into the big envelope with the invitation and seals the envelope.

Then it comes to me. I place the decorative sticker with a K and E intertwined over the envelope flap on the back and a stamp on the front, then hand it to Etna last. He adds the recipient’s address label and checks those people off the list, dumping it into a box for the post office.

The whole process is moving smoothly and somewhat efficiently. Yes, we’re getting a lot of paper cuts. It’s going to sucktomorrow when our hands get sweaty and they all sting. What will Coach say? I smirk thinking about it.

“This the last thing on your list to do?” Horny asks.

“Ha!” I say and Etna snorts, “Not even close.”

“What’s left?”

“What’snotleft?” I counter. “Rentals, decorations, getting vendors to respond, alcohol…”

“This is at a resort, right?” Hilt asks. Etna and I nod. “Then I’m sure they can take care of the alcohol. They probably prefer to.”

We look at each other and I think we both release a breath. That’s just one thing, but hell, it’s one thing! Yes, please.

“Good idea. We’ll call Melissa in a bit. We need to give her our headcount again now that it’s higher than we gave her two days ago.”

“How did you order invitations without knowing how many you needed?” Julian asks.

I give him an amused look. “We ordered 500. It had the best discount.”
