I felt a little insulted. “What exactly doesthatmean?”

It took a minute for the answer to come. “You’re close to God,” he said softly. “And I’m the worst kind of sinner.”

“I’m a sinner, just like you.”

“Oh, you’re not like me,” he said, stroking my face. “And I don’t want to hear you talk like that again. What I’m saying,” he went on, cutting off any arguments I could make, “is that I know you belong to God, and I got no plans on stealing you away. But if there are things you want to experience before you take those vows…well, I’d be happy to help you experience them.” I swallowed as his words hit me. He went on, “Except it can’t interfere with the job, you know what I’m saying?”

It was a bad idea that would only hurt us both, but my mouth ran away with me. “I’ll do whatever you say.”

Teo let out a softmmm. “Also, I think we should keep it between us,” he said. “If you don’t mind. I really don’t need Mr. D’s opinions.”

I grinned. He was right. Finch would have Opinions with a capital O. “Okay.”

“And you tell me if you’re not comfortable with anything.”

“Yeah. Okay.” I was impatient now. “I’ll let you know.”

“How’s your mouth holding up after all that kissing last night?”

I let my lips part and his fingertip dipped in, touched the tip of my tongue, then returned to spread saliva across my bottom lip. “It’s…okay, I guess.”

I’d never been very good at flirting.

“Because if it felt tender,” Teo went on, his voice low and sultry, “if it was hurting you, I’d be happy to kiss it better. If you wanted.”

I sucked in a breath so fast I almost choked. I was hard and aching for him, and knowing how wrong this was only made it more exciting. “I think—I think that’d be—yes—”

“You think that’d be something you might like?” he prompted.

Relieved, I gasped out, “Yeah. Please. Yes, please.”

His hand moved up to cover my jaw and his thumb pressed against my lower lip. “I’d like that too,” he murmured. “But only if you’re sure.”

In response, I moved to catch his thumb in my mouth and sucked on it. I’d seen that in a movie once and always thought it seemed like a sexy move. When I swirled my tongue around it and drew it in deeper, the noise Teo made suggested he thought so, too. I let his thumb pull back out of the tight ring of my lips and then told him, “I’m sure.”

He’d been gentle last night, and he started the same way, teasing me by leaning in to rub his nose against mine, but when I reached up to take his face in my hands, pressed my body up against his, he grabbed my wrists. “Not so fast,” he told me. “There’s no rush.”

There was, though. I could feel, somewhere, the hourglass sands running out, and I was acutely aware how little time I had left before I’d never have a chance like this again. “Please,” I begged him. “I won’t break.”

He let out a mutteredFuck, and his fingers tightened around my wrists; he pushed my arms up over my head and slid on top of me, sinuous as a snake. “Don’t make me think about that,” he said in my ear.

“Th-think about what?” My tongue slithered over the words, as though I knew already I shouldn’t ask.

“Breaking you.”

I didn’t understand what he meant. But I liked the sound of it, and I moved under him, pressing my hips up into him with unmistakable encouragement. He gripped my wrists harder and buried his face in my neck with a soft sigh. “Baby.”

“Kiss me,” I demanded, because if I didn’t ask for that I was going to ask for something else, something forbidden. His hair had fallen across my face, still slightly damp from the shower he’d had before he got into bed, and it smelled clean and fresh.

“Ask me again,” he said, and I could hear the smug smile though I couldn’t see it.

“Kiss me. Please, Teo—”

As soon as I said his name, he let go of my wrists and rolled us over in the bed so that I was on top of him, opening his legs wide so I fell between them. His hand came up to the back of my neck and he kissed me, slow and deep. I worried that I’d be too heavy, that I’d poke him if I moved, or hurt him if I ground down on him the way I wanted to…

But my body seemed to know what to do all on its own. There was a heavy, throbbing pulse between my legs that drove my hips, thrusting and writhing without finesse until I felt Teo’s hand in the small of my back, soothing me into a rhythm that made me moan against his tongue in my mouth. That same sweet, coiling tension from the night before built between us again.

“That’s it, baby,” Teo murmured, one hand still on my back and the other curling around my neck as I nuzzled into his ear, his hair, panting, my breath and my sweat muggy against him. “Feels good, right?” I couldn’t speak, so I just grunted my agreement, and he gave a breath of laughter. “Yeah, it’srealgood.”
