“What do you mean?” He felt Lulu freeze slightly on top of him, his lips hovering above Xavi’s chest.
“It’s just… Allentown is so far away, and we’re both so busy.”
Laughing quietly, Lulu nipped at Xavi’s nipple. “It’s really not that far away. I’ve lived in Allentown for ages, and we see each other all the time, an—”
“Lulu, it’s too far away. Even if you lived across the street from me, or down the hallway, it’d still be too fucking far away.” Allentown might as well be the fucking moon. Xavi already felt Lulu’s absence burrowing into every limb in his body, threatening to tear him apart. The thought of Lulu all the way in Allentown…
“Oh. So you… So what are you saying?” Lulu lifted his head, resting his chin on Xavi’s chest as he frowned up at him, something dwelling in his eyes that looked a lot like hope. Want, too, if Xavi wasn’t mistaken.
“I… I guess I’m saying that I want you to move in with me. If that’s something you’d want, too?” Lulu stared at him, then his eyes grew wider, his brows meeting in the middle. Shifting, Lulu crossed his arms underneath him, his lips twisting slightly.
“What are you doing?” Xavi asked. Perhaps it was too soon or too much, but it had felt so right mere seconds ago, when the need to ask Lulu to be with him all the time had risen inside him.
“Pinching myself.” Lulu’s teeth dug into his bottom lip, and suddenly, he looked so young and vulnerable, like the boy Xavi once knew and had fallen in love with so deeply and irrevocably.
“Why?”
“Why, he asks?” Lulu chuckled. “Because I must be dreaming. I mean, I did suspect I’d made up this whole trip in my head, but now I know for sure. I must still be in my shitty bed, in my shitty room, in that shitty apartment in Allentown, fast asleep and dreaming. Because it sounded like you were just asking me to move in with you.”
“I was. I am.” Xavi smiled, cradling Lulu’s chin in his hand, and Lulu’s obvious vulnerability made Xavi love him even more. It told him that something was at stakehere, not just for Xavi, but for Lulu, too. Their whole future was at stake. “So, will you? Will you move in with me,cisne?”
“Yes, I will.” Lulu blinked back his tears, but it was all in vain, his cheeks already wet. “And just for future reference, consider this a yes to anything and everything you’re ever gonna ask me. It’ll always be a yes.”
“Yeah?”
“Sí.”
“Good.”
“But we’re gonna have to set up some ground rules. Because the ‘being impaled on your cock 24/7 part’ might make Sunday brunch a little awkward, you know?” Lulu held up his thumb and index finger, a minuscule space between his fingers. “Maybe just a smidgen, dontcha think, oso?”
“Jesus.” Now that the image invaded Xavi’s mind, he felt himself getting hard again.
“I mean, what if it sets some kinda precedent? Ewww, the last thing I wanna see is Joe impaled on—” Xavi’s hand flew to Lulu’s mouth, shutting him up, before that image had a chance to fester in his mind, too.
“Cállate!” Xavi hissed. “Not another word, mano. Just… no.” Shit, this was what he was in for, right? This… this craziness every day for the rest of his life. And still, Xavi’s heart pounded in his chest with a ferociousness and optimism he hadn’t felt in years. He was in. All the way in.
Chapter Thirty-One
Lulu
“You okay?” Lulu squeezed Xavi’s hand as they stood in front of the sliding entrance doors to Portland Airport. “There’s still time to change your mind, you know? Casey hasn’t left yet.” When they’d aired their intention to fly back to Buffalo instead of taking the FIAT, Noah’s brother-in-law had offered to drive the car back for them. Apparently, the guy loved driving, and Aislin was okay to fly alone with the kids. “We can still take the sardine can instead,” Lulu winked, bumping his shoulder against Xavi’s.
Xavi squeezed Lulu’s fingers back, a deep sigh leaving his chest. His dark coffee eyes locked onto Lulu’s, staring right into the depths of Lulu’s soul as always.
“Nah, if I ever wanna take you to Madrid,”—Xavi tipped his chin with that newfound determination that was just so fucking sexy in too many ways to count—“which I really fucking do, I’m gonna have to suck it up.”
A strangled groan fell from Lulu’s lips before he leaned in and hissed against Xavi’s ear. “Don’t ever, and I mean fuckingever, saysuckin a public place again, mano.”
Xavi’s thick eyebrows shot up almost all the way to his hairline. “Why not? What’s wrong withsuck? It’s just a verb.Suck.”
“Ugh, what the fuck did I just tell you? Don’t say it.” Lulu shifted on his feet, his jeans suddenly way too tight.
“Why not?”
Lulu hinted at his crotch, where the outline of his hardening dick was showing a little too clearly behind the light blue denim. Xavi’s gaze followed Lulu’s, then his eyes widened when they landed on Lulu’s dick that strained toward him.
“Oh,” Xavi blushed adorably, his mouth pressed into a cuteO. “I see.”
