Are we considered friends now? I’m not really sure how this works. If you help someone through a mental break, does that automatically mean you’re friends? Like, do I ask them if they want to be friends?God, I’m pathetic!
Tonight, Ink Me was slow, and we were all sitting around shooting the shit. I was working on some sketches while listening to Dom and Jasper debate whether or not bigfoot is real.
“It's REAL!!” Jasper exclaims.
“I don’t care what you say, BigFoot is not real!” Dom counters.
“It… Is… Called… A Sasquatch!”
Well, alrighty then, it seems Jasper has a soft spot for the big hairy guy.
“I don’t fucking care what it is called. If it leaves hair all over this place, I’m strangling both of you..” Mira moves to stand right in front of Dom and Jasper. “And I know how to hide the bodies.”
“Umm, hey Boss man?” Jasper calls out, looking just as terrified as the rest of us.
“Nobody is hiding any bodies, unless it’s in the next 3 hours,” Jaxon says, walking into the lobby area.
“Uhh, what?” Jasper’s eyes go wide before he looks back at Mira and narrows them.
“There is a dumpster out back that is here for the next 3 hours. Choose your victims wisely!”
I laugh at the silliness of it all. God, I’m so happy. I don’t even know how to describe the feeling. I’ve never felt it before. It’s like I have no worries except for what is right in front of me. My mind is not racing, and I physically feel relaxed. My body doesn’t hurt. The only thing sore is my ass from the other night and the new set of bruises—courtesy of Spencer—from last night when he blew me to within an inch of my life.Fuck yes, I finally got to meet that infamous dildo!
“Which brings me to my next piece of business. We’ve been slow today,” says Jaxon, looking around. Proving his point that there is nobody here but us.
Oh, shit, what if we have been too slow, and he’s decided he doesn’t need me anymore? All the blood rushes to my head, sounding like crashing waves. The room starts to spin a little. The next thing I feel is Dom’s ridiculously large hand on my shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze.
He whispers close to my ear. “Take a couple deep breaths.”
I breathe in and out a couple of times in big, steady breaths, trying to focus back on Jaxon.
“And since we are slow today and it’s rare, we are going to take advantage. I hope you all brought your anger because we are going to help Spencer clean out the new building. We all know he is probably over there trying doing it all by himself.” My chest swells with his words. Looking around the room, I see everyone shaking their heads. “You will also stay punched in. This is my decision and I don’t want to take income away from you.”
Jasper is the first to speak up. “Nah man, He is a friend. You don’t need to pay me.”
“Yeah me too,” says Dom.
“Ugh, fine,” says Mira, a smirk on her face.
“Me three,” I say. “Maybe we could call Alex, Jules and Olly, see if they are available to help.”
“I like that, yes!” Jaxon says.
“I’ll call Olly!” Jasper says, already striding out of the room. I cock my head quizzically. Are they or are they not?
Dom just shrugs his shoulders. “I’ll order some pizza and pick up some beer.”
“I’ll call Alex,” Jaxon says. Again, Dom just shrugs. “Mira?” he asks.
“Oh, I’m already on it!”
I laugh at the absurdity, my face landing on the biggest smile. Yeah, it’s the people!
We all pile into the cafe, yelling and laughing. Mira has her arm around Jules. A wrestling match just broke out between Jaxon and Dom, and Alex is frantically rubbing out a scuff mark on his white shoe.I don’t want to be the one to tell him. We must sound like a herd of elephants.
Spencer is just standing there, mouth hanging open, eyebrows raised as everybody continues to move about.
“Wh… What… are you all doing here?”
