“Yeah, I just woke up.” His voice is rough, giving away thathe’s not lying. “I actually think it was my best night’s sleep in a long time.”

“Me too,” I murmur softly.

“Are you ready for day two with everyone?”

I sigh. “I guess so.”

“Everyone seems nice.”

“Yeah. How’re you holding up?”

“I’m fine.”

I twist my lips to the side because “fine” isn’t a great answer, but I can tell that’s all he’s going to give me.

“I didn’t get you a gift, though,” I admit.

“Well now you’ve crossed the line.”

I bark out a laugh, and he joins me with his low rumble. “Come on, let’s find you some coffee.”

After we get dressedand go downstairs, Chandler is already sitting on the floor with Evie who’s currently working on unwrapping a present. Matt and Vince are sitting close by on the couch, watching the scene in front of them.

Chandler notices us, and smiles. “Good morning. We were going to wait, but I told her she could open one present.”

“It’s okay. You don’t need to wait for us,” I tell her.

“I’ll grab you some coffee,” Wes says, as I take a seat in a chair close to where Evie and Chandler are sitting.

“Brent is in there making some. He can help you, that machine is complicated.” Chandler gives me a look like she’s silently wishing him luck.

“Hopefully he can teach me.” Wes heads toward the kitchen, and Matt immediately speaks up.

“Hopefully he doesn’t give your boyfriend a hard time like he did to Brynn.”

“You gave Colton a harder time than he did,” Vince scoffs.

“That had nothing to do with Brynn, I just hated the guy.”

“And now look at you two. You all love each othersomuch.” Chandler rolls her eyes for only me to see and I let out a small smile.

“Seems like I’ve missed out on a lot,” I admit, especially looking at Evie as she shakes around the box with the new toy she just opened.

“You’re here now, and that’s all that matters.” Chandler smiles.

I try to return it, but I’m hit with the guilt of not being around as much as I should be, purely based on an irrational fear. Wes returns with a mug full of steaming liquid at the same time Brent returns with an iced drink for Chandler.

“You two can get your own,” Brent tells the other two men who grumble.

“You’re a brave soul, putting up with three guys all the time,” I tease, taking a sip of the drink that I’m surprised to find is perfect.

“That’s what I’m told.” She chuckles.

The front door opens, and Brynn announces herself as she and Colton enter with several bags full of presents. “You all can stop crying. We’re here now. Sorry we’re late.”

“No one is crying,” Brent deadpans and Brynn glares at him.

“You have no sense of humor. Did I get all the joking genes?” Brynn looks at me and I shrug.
