“Hell yeah.”
I knew he’d say that. Since we’d started making love to each other, we had to go at it several times a week. I’d never done anything like that in previous relationships, but with Nash, it came naturally. I just so happened to look up and notice that Farrah had thrown her hands in the air.
“I think our drinks are at the table,” I stated to Nash.
“Are you ready to head back?” he asked.
I nodded. “Yes, but let me quickly run to the bathroom.”
“Do you need me to go with you?”
I smiled and pecked his lips. “Nah, I got it. I’ll be right back.”
Nash being Nash walked me to the bathroom anyway. The only thing I did was shake my head. If he had it his way, I’d never leave his sight.
“I don’t want anybody trying to hit on you,” he voiced.
I laughed. “If you say so.”
I loved that he was overly protective and wanted nothing to happen to me. That was something I’d searched for my whole life. Nash was a dream come true in my life. I just hoped we could make it forever. Even though we were just beginning our relationship, I envisioned a forever future with him. Every day, I had to thank God for sending a man like him into my life. If Nash hadn’t stopped me that day at the gym, who knows where I’d be or what I’d be doing?
When we reached the entrance of the restroom, Nash stopped.
“I’ll be right here,” he stated.
“Okay I’ll be quick.”
As I entered the ladies’ restroom, I was glad there wasn’t a line. I could do my business and head back to my man. Once I was done, I headed to the sink and washed my hands. Out of nowhere, I smiled at myself in the mirror. The woman who looked back at me appeared to be happy, which was all I wanted for myself.
As I exited the bathroom, I bumped into someone.
“Oh, excuse me.”
My eyes widened when I saw who the man was. It was someone I never wanted to see ever in my life.
“Jonathan...” The only thing I could do was stare at him when I called his name.
He smiled at me and then tried to come in for a hug. I pushed him back. Of course, his ass would try something with me. Hedidn’t give a damn about anything but himself. Why would I even want to hug him?
“Don’t touch me,” I snapped, glowering at him.
“Aww, man. Don’t act like that. We need to talk about something,” he voiced.
I frowned, stepping away from him. “No, we have nothing to talk about.”
Johnathan kept talking as if what I said didn’t matter to him. “The woman I cheated on you with... we’re not together anymore. The baby she was carrying wasn’t mine.”
I screwed my face up. “I don’t care, Jonathan. That’s not my problem. Now, please let me pass so that I can go.”
He shook his head, clenching his jaw muscles, a sign he was angry. Not that I gave a damn.
“You need to care. I want you back, Kenzlee. We could forget about what happened and move on with each other again. I know you want me.”
I scoffed in disgust and rolled my eyes. Saying nothing else, I pushed Johnathan out of my way, only for him to grab my upper arm and shove me against the wall. The look in his eyes scared the hell out of me.
I grabbed my arm in pain. “Oww!” I yelled out.
As soon as those words left my mouth, Nash appeared with a scowl on his face. “Are you good?” His eyes studied my body and narrowed when he saw me holding my arm. He rushed toward me, pushing Jonathan out of the way. “What the fuck happened?” He turned to look at Jonathan. “What the fuck did you do to her?” he growled, stepping in Jonathan’s face.
