Her pants were the same green on her top and baggy, hiding the curves that her jeans had showed off spectacularly.
What he liked was how relaxed she appeared. He gave her a smile.Pointing to the bed as he set the ice bucket on the table, he said, “I don’t know your likes and dislikes yet, angel, so I brought a selection. If that’s not good I’ll head back out.”
“Vivyan.”
He smiled larger as he unwrapped a cup and filled it with ice. Then repeated the motion before uncapping one of the waters and filling their plastic cups.Carrying one to her, he held it out to her, she still stood in front of the bathroom door, the steam curling about her body in a lover’s caress as it escaped from the heated room.
“Thank you.”She carefully took the cup, not allowing their fingers to touch.
Ronan wasn’t a fan of that but he didn’t push. Not yet.He dipped his head so it was closer to hers, loving the way her pupils dilated as he got near.“You’re welcome, angel.”
The pulse on the side of her neck kicked up to a faster speed and he wanted to sink his teeth into it.Not to bleed her, no, but to feel how it pounded, especially with him up close.
“Vivyan.”
He stroked his beard, loving how her gaze followed his movements, even as she tried her best to pretend indifference. She sipped her water and it was his turn to follow movement.
“But you’remyangel.”
Her eyes flickered up to his, sadness lined her beautiful brown eyes.It killed him, he hated to see any sadness in her expression.
“I’m not anyone’s angel.”She drained her water and sucked up an ice cube. His cock swelled further and he nearly stepped into her but held his ground, sure his approach wouldn’t be approved.
“You’re mine.”
She patted his arm, paused with her palm on his bicep and gave him a small squeeze before seeming to realize what she was doing, for she shook her head and pulled away.“I’m sure you’ll see different in the morning. How do you want to handle sleeping?”
He took a deep breath and waited for her to give him her eyes once more.It took her a while but eventually she did.
“Angel, I feel if I tell you, you’ll run from me, so I’ll follow your lead.Do you want me to sleep on the floor or in the chair?”
Vivyan glanced to the queen sized bed in the middle of the room, gulped then back to him.One shoulder shrug before she watched him, zero expression on her face.
“It’s below freezing out there and the floor isn’t heated. That’s crazy for you to be there. We can share if you’re okay with that.”
“Angel, I’d never turn down the opportunity to share a bed with you.”
She flicked her tongue over her lips and he barely bit back his groan.
I’m in trouble.
Chapter3
Angel.
Why did he insist on calling her that?
Perhaps the more pertinent question would be why it affected her so?
Neither question was she intent on answering right now or thinking on for longer than necessary.
It’s necessary.
She ignored the chant from her body as she didn’t need to be more attracted to this stranger she had picked up along the side of the road.Crunching the ice, she noticed the flare of heat in his incredible gaze.A heat which reflected deep within her own body.
“Do you have a side preference?”She pivoted and ambled over to where her bag remained open on the foot of the bed.Breathing a bit easier once away from his powerful presence, she sucked in another piece of ice.
Only a bit easier, that man still affects me.The room isn’t that big.
