CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR
MAKAYL
This year is definitely better; all four of my kids are trying to win a game of musical statues against the oldies, who are claiming they are not cheating by sitting down to dance. My father has never smiled as much as he has with my baby girl around. Lilliana finally agreed to fully bond with me. My kids are happy and finding their forevers.
I know Bastille is ready, but I’m glad it’s not hitting us all at once, or some celebrations will be lost in the mayhem. I watch as Lily wanders to each of my children and then heads inside. I decide to follow when I notice my children are following her like little ducks,
“I know I’m doing this an odd way, but it’s the way that feels right.” Lily pushes me, so I’m sitting, and I see Ember push the three boys down, all three glaring at her. She just turns and looks at Lily.
“I found out this morning that I’m pregnant” Silence, I can’t even hear breathing,
“I’m around three months.” Again, no one moves, no one breaths,
“DAD,” Ember growls at me,
“Erm,” is my only response, causing my daughter to roll her eyes at me,
“I can’t wait, I’m going to be a big sister” She hugs Lily and then pulls back,
“Single? Twins? Triplets? Quads?” Lily laughs and covers Ember’s mouth.
“Twins and I would like to find out the sex before you start firing off more questions.” I finally snap out of my stupor,
“I love you; I am happy, just shocked.” I kiss her and hold her close.
“Xander bless him, came to me in a flap, your injection was due the day Ember came home, and in all that excitement, he forgot yours, Luc’s and Nic’s. He was so apologetic, but we went straight to the clinic and took a test.” I kiss her, I don’t care,
“We are still going to be the best set of twins.” I hear Brayden whisper, and he gets an elbow to the gut from Ember,
“It's not a competition, Bray, let’s hope one isn’t greedy like you and steals the height, muscles and alters, even though from what Xander found out, it could be genetic.” I hear a thump, and then the kids start to bicker. I just hold Lily, and we watch our children fight about who’s going to be the best older sibling. I just silently wish nothing goes wrong with these two.
EMBER
Ren and Trick's birthday is in a week. Trick told Alma and me that he just wanted a meal of all his favourites. He doesn’t like parties anyway. Ren grumbled the other day that people at school won’t stop asking about the upcoming party they expect to happen, and the shifters have got worse, hoping that when he announces his pack at his party, they will be part of it.
He got so pissed at the pack meet the other day, he yelled at some Barbies and told them he was having a quiet meal with his family, he didn’t want a party, and his Pack knows who they are already.
Since then, Lia, Alma and I have been working behind the scenes, they will have a meal, but it will be our first pack meal in our new home, it’s not finished by any stretch of the imagination, but the Kitchen and dining room is, and we managed to get the beds up in all the bedrooms, Bray’s Cabin isn’t done so I’ve set up a temp room in the main house for them, but the other guy's cabins are done, so I have, go-bags packed, and we took them over this morning.
Lia and I are going to do all the cooking for the evening, and Alma is doing a birthday breakfast as the family treat.
While Lia and I were getting stuff set up in the kitchen, the Minx told me she was also expecting, fell on their honeymoon, and she’s praising every deity she can think of that it's only one baby. I gave Mirri a quick call asking when they were arriving. We worked out that Lia is nine weeks gone, but with not only her and Lily carrying, but there are also twelve others within the pack. She told me she would call me back and give me a date, and I confirmed her cabin was ready when they were.
Timber told me at dinner last night that my studio was done, so Matt and I are currently packing up the room I used at TripleMoon, the only stuff being left behind is the stuff for the art show, as why move it twice?
Miles finished putting the stuff that needed framestogether this morning, just as we are getting the last of my paints and tablets packed, an older enforcer wanders in.
“Miss, the two new females are here. Where do you want them to put?”
He sniffs at me, I stare at him, then just walk past, ignoring him,
“Ms Flowers, it’s so nice to see you again.” Shaking her hand, I spot Trent and Marcus,
“Guys, can you grab the keys to the Blossom house and meet us there?” They just smile and head off,
“Is it far? I don’t think I can manage far in the car.” Ms Flowers' Daughter, Oriana, states,
“It’s actually quicker to walk if you don’t mind someone else driving your car.” She nods and hands me the keys, which Matt takes,
