I didn’t say anything. I only kissed him. Morpheus and his first officer were still there, but there were only the two of us in my conscious awareness. I threw my arms around Kronos’ neck and he lifted me off the ground.

I wasn’t. But I was just happy to be there, happy to have Kronos in my arms again.

He was confused. I wasn’t supposed to hear that. Except now, I could hear everything. I could hear their thoughts, I could hear what they wanted to keep from me. I could hear their feelings. I could hear their subconscious thoughts.

> Kronos said to Tisiphone. She nodded.
It was time to leave this place. I held onto Kronos as Morpheus teleported us back to the ship. We only had a few minutes before the Taureans attacked.

Morpheus and Tisiphone exchanged glances. Kronos nodded. They should listen to me, they didn’t have much time. I dressed and followed Kronos to the bridge just in time to see the ten Taurean vessels racing toward our ship with two Arietan vessels at their tail.

“How do you know?” Kronos asked.
“I do. I just do. Fire at the Arietans first. They’re armed better. Some of the Taurean ships are damaged.”
“Do as she says.”
They listened to me. They fired. The ships exploded. And then the Devoran ships that came to assist raised their weapons and fired. Eight of the Taurean ships were destroyed and then two ships that remained retreated. Kronos rose.

The campaign was done. They’d done it. Earth was safe. I was just an Alaskan girl. A nobody. But I’d saved Earth. In all my years alive, I’d managed to become something. I had the Fengari people to thank for opening my potential.
And now I could be with Kronos again. Once he was sure we were in the clear, he pulled me aside to our quarters. My eyes were different. When the Fengari changed me, they’d changed my eye color too and hadn’t explained why. Kronos and I had been apart too long.
Once we were alone, I kissed him again.
“I was worried about you.”
“I found a way to survive.”
“What happened down there?”
“Let me show you.”
I touched him and all my memories became his. Kronos pulled away from me, surprise written all over his face.
