Destiny exhaled a shaky breath, and he lowered down and teased her, his lips hovering just an inch from hers.

She wanted him. She wanted this. Slowly, Destiny lifted her chin, inviting him.

He stayed there for a three count more, and then… “Fuck it.” He pressed his lips to hers, but it wasn’t some violent thing. It wasn’t passion, or the destruction of a stubborn man’s resolve.

He drank her.

He tasted her.

This was a slow-motion kiss that dragged her desire up from her belly.

He kept it slow, and then he did something that drew a moan of happiness from her lips. He moved his hand from her neck to her collar bone, to her arm and down to her hand, and he intertwined their fingers. He held her like that, lapping at her, training her on how to kiss after so long.

Destiny was lost. She knew in this moment, nothing would be simple with him ever again.

She knew without the shadow of a doubt that she would want more of this.

The sound of the door chime filled the dressing room, and Dodger released her from his spell. He kissed her once more with a sweet smack and rested his forehead against hers, eyes closed.

Hand splayed on the wall above her, he pushed back and let her other hand go. He backed up, eyes boring into her. She couldn’t read his expression. It seemed to be a mixture between concern, hunger, and confusion. “Was it gentle enough?” he asked in a low, growly voice.

The smile that stretched her face felt so good. Unable to find the right words, she nodded. Silly werewolf. He was worried about hurting her with a kiss.

“Will you show me the clothes?” he asked.

Destiny nodded again. “I’ll do a fashion show for you.”

His smile was big, bright white, and so handsome. “I’ll be just out here.”

Dodger closed the fabric curtain, and she turned to look at herself in the full-length mirror. She’d let the sweater sag to show the top of her cleavage, pushed up in her bra. Her cheeks were flushed with a blush, and her skin was glowing. Her smile was unrecognizable. She put her hand over her throbbing lipsand stared at the wall, remembering the way he’d kissed her. Even now, her lips tingled with wanting.

It had really happened. A man had kissed her again, and none of the feelings she’d expected happened. She didn’t feel like she was betraying her first love, or like she hadn’t been ready.

All she felt was happy, and steady, hopeful, and giddy.

Her hands shook as she dressed in the warm clothes, and before she headed out to show him, she took three steadying breaths.Be cool.

He was sitting in a chair outside of the dressing room, staring off with a slight frown on his face. She was worried he was wallowing in regret until he swung his gaze to her and another smile lit up his face.

“Okay, that’s pretty cute,” he said.

“I look like a snowman.”

“You look fuckin’ adorable. And warm.”

“I’m going to start sweating in here,” she admitted, pulling at the sweater that was under the suspender straps of her thick ski bibs.

“Try this,” he said, standing. He had a cream-colored beanie in his hands with little navy-blue hearts printed on it. The little snowball on top matched her sweater. He pulled it over her curls and grinned down at her. He didn’t say a word, but he didn’t have to. His eyes said it all. He shook his head, and told the lady at the desk, “We’re going to take this whole outfit.” He pointed to a display of different sized gloves. “And a pair of those.”

If his being a werewolf bothered the woman, she didn’t show any signs. She seemed excited to make the sale, and of course she was. Dodger spent a small fortune on this stuff. Destiny tried to help pay but he refused.

Honestly, she liked that he was paying, and she loved that he was confident when he’d picked out the outfit and the sizes. It was hot. A confident man was so attractive to her.

“So, I would like to share some good news with you,” she told him as she walked along the sidewalk with him outside. Her new ski pants made swishing sounds with every step. “It’s not a big deal though or anything.”

“It sounds like a pretty big deal when you set it up like that.”

“I haven’t even told my parents yet.”
